Well done Dinga! You clearly have the patience of a saint with all those children. I'd be roping them into helping decorate the extension.
DS is quite a dab hand with a roller, though he's not helped with the kitchen and utility as it's all fiddly brush and some careful mini roller work.
Not tried the pod or spray systems, guess I'm stuck in my ways a bit! Will hop over to your diary, read and subscribe. We'll badger you to keep it upBack on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020

Saturday evening and the day has flown by. I underestimated how long the walls would take to paint - nearly 5 hrs  but then it is two rooms and not one straight wall, so lots of hand edging and going around units, door frames and behind pipes. Still, it looks good so far (even if it is the same colour as before) - clean and fresh again.
So tomorrow the walls will get the final coat, with the aim to be finished by lunchtime. There will still be work to do - I've got a grout pen to whiten that up and the venetian blinds (3 of them) all need cleaning, which is a pig of a job when I can't take them down.
Rain didn't materialise and it was blowing well outside - wishing I'd have got the washing done now. Oh well, it'll have to go on airers but nothing that we need for school/work, so not an issue there.
DS came out walking with the dogs and lent me £2 at the local shop so I've got a lottery ticket for tonight. I never take my purse on dog walks so an impromptu stop off there saw him get chocolate - a bar for me for Easter bless him, double for him though
Tired once again, so a tv night and some surveys to keep the numbers going up.
Financials:
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery check - both
- Nectar adpoints and canvass - haven't checked those today
- Nectar card - still at £56.21
- Inbox Pounds - tiny bits on my tea breaks and up to £15.11
- Qmee - picked up another 10p whilst doing IP bits
DS has an Easter Egg waiting for him courtesy of DB, but it's sat at my Mums, so we also need to fit in a trip over there tomorrow or more likely, Monday. So much for me trying to get a chill out day in this week :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

Decorating is not the nicest job, we have the saga of painting walls every Spring because the house gets rather damp. I have promised Mrs. K. that I'll have a go at making some new window frames over summer because ours are really quite rotten, I've never done it before but it shouldn't be too difficult, I hope.
Do you seriously check your accounts every day?2018 totals:

Seriously Alex, that could be another business opportunity for you there with handmade/bespoke window frames. I think when you're practical and good with things like that, then turning your hand to something else in that realm will go well.
I don't envy you having to paint each Spring. I did the hall, stairs and landing last year, followed by the cloakroom and dining room. The guest bedroom and my study are in my sights to be done, but not in desperate need like the kitchen and utility were. I've just done the grout with the pen and it looks good.
I do check my accounts every day. Inbox Pounds and Nectar I leave open and just refresh. Bank account is the first thing I do on a week day and anything gone in or out gets an 'x' against it in my budget spreadsheet. Same for my business too - my accountant thinks I'm insanely organised and efficient, but I know exactly where I am financially on all levels and no surprises that way.

The decorating is finished! :j Operation Clean Up almost complete - just a few specs of paint on the floor left to scrub out. Really pleased with the result and no dogs have paint on them either - this is rare
Interesting times kneeling on the worktop and painting with the washing machine going at full spin underneath :rotfl: That is on airers as we've had rain this morning.
I noticed we've eaten alot of processed frozen food in the last few days for quick wins at lunch time, so the food shopping list has grown from it's usual. Having roast gammon for dinner tonight that will last us for meals tomorrow and Tuesday.
As much as I'd like to spend the afternoon being productive, reality is I'm shattered, so a chill out time is in order and probably a pamper myself bath later, paint toe nails and my hair needs colouring again too. Another from the 3 for 2 stock will be used.
Then to eat the chocolate that DS bought me yesterdayOoh must check the lottery ticket as well before I forget.
Happy Easter everyone. :easter_osBack on the DFW Wagon:

Well done on finishing the painting. I love when I decorate. Actually now that DD can decorate I don't do it
. No doubt when she starts uni I'll have to help her do it again.
I'm off out for the day. The sun is splitting the skies here so we will make the most of it and have a few drinks with friends in their garden. I'm really looking forward to it.
Have a lovely chilled afternoon and enjoy your chocolate x5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

We're nicely full after our roast gammon dinner and I've started on the bar of choccie
. Yum yum.
Phones calls made by DS to do his Easter thank yous and we're popping over to Mum's late morning tomorrow to pick up his last Egg. Hoping personal use fuel will last until end of month, but it's going to be tight.
I've flicked the heating on as well, it's been raining heavily and dark for a couple of hours here. Going for that long awaited bath shortly and can put my fleecy PJs on and shut the night out.
Financials for today:
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery (both) - checked
- Nectar adpoints - another 4 and finishing the week on 70
- Nectar Canvass - thrown out of 2so nil points
- Nectar card - still at £56.21
- Inbox Pounds - up a little to £15.29 - there are surveys to do though
- Qmee - another 11p picked up
I still have this weekend's housework to do and I also need to catch up on work stuff tomorrow in readiness for Tuesday. It's going to be another busy day, what with prep for DS going back to school too.
Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter Day.Back on the DFW Wagon:

So I'm relaxing in the bath, when I glance up and see that the shower head is hanging at an odd angle...a closer inspection reveals the holder on the rail has cracked AGAIN and as I promptly get reminded, touching it breaks it apart and the spring and bits fly out into the bath water :rotfl:
Order placed for the part online at a cost of £17.91. Fortunately, I don't have to search for the part, just re-order a previous order, as although the shower is brilliant itself, this part just isn't fit for purpose and I've lost count of the number of replacements.
Now awaiting 3 deliveries - DS's school trousers, the shower part and a business tax tracker diary. They'll all arrive when I'm out, won't they?!

I've never tried to make one before and you're already finding a business opportunity :rotfl:, you have far more faith in my "skills" than I do. I have no qualifications in woodworking, what I know is mostly self taught.
It's a horrible job but one we have to keep on top of. The winter consists of constantly trying to rid the house of all the condensation we can.
Your accountant would be correct in thinking you are "insanely organised and efficient", will never catch mine saying that about me!
Well done on the decorating and you know as well as I do that your post will arrive when you're out.2018 totals:
