A morning post as I've got a long list of To Do's and want to get them all done. Holding myself accountable in writing adds a kick up the you-know-where :D

    So, already done:
    - spring/summer wardrobe sorted - don't need a thing (other than sandals, but not yet warm enough and have £10 birthday money left for that)
    - stripped beds and bedding in the wash
    - bank account checked
    - 76p moved from Qmee to Paypal (another 5p last night)
    - Nectar card value checked and up to £54.36
    - Phoned dog groomers - ansaphone, going to book both in as May is a quieter month for spends (£100 )
    - Phoned blinds company - another ansaphone :rotfl: to find out how to take kitchen blinds down that they fitted (so I can finally decorate :D)
    - Meal plan for rest of this week and next done (save for a separate post as mine are long and you're probably nodding off into your morning caffeine already :rotfl:)
    - Food shopping list written - looks a bit pricey this week as includes mince and gammon and DS has raided and eaten every snack known to man :D
    - Registered with First (train line) as Nectar have partnered and there's 200 points for that, plus 4pts per £1 spent before 27th April. Woo hoo, might use that for London for 26th April, but need to check if cheaper than tourist info office tickets first
    - dishwasher finished and all put away (down to 1.5 loads per week or 3 loads every 2 weeks for the pedants :D)
    - showered, dressed and looking reasonably presentable for going outdoors :rotfl:

    So, now the To Do's:

    - Measure DS and order school trousers
    - Take sports car to indie garage, discuss and book service
    - Ald! food shop

Here's where I need to push myself:
    - clean both sets of french doors inside and out
    - clean windows inside and out (15 of the damn things, leaded as well )
    - nets - only at 2 windows, handwash and whiten
    - clean front and back doors inside and out, plus the bit in the middle where all the carp collects

Leftover from December to do :rotfl:
    - books, PSP games and CDs put through Zapper again and see what we can get rid of for a small return.

THEN, start prep for kitchen decoration OR stuff for boot sale, though looks like rain is due on Sunday so looks like decorating wins. Deep joy :rotfl:

    Happy Tuesday everyone! :D

What a busy day I've had! Stuck to the To Do list I put up earlier and achieved most of it.

    - Groomer phoned back, so doglet 1 is booked in for 28/4 and doglet 2 for 3rd May. That's good with one each falling in both months.
    - Blinds company haven't phoned back, so need to phone them again tomorrow.
    - Measured DS again and just need to find somewhere to order his school trousers from now
    - Went to indie garage, the 2 probs I have are both due to it sitting over the winter, so need to use the sports car more over the next few days and service is booked in for next Tuesday
    - Ald! food shop done - spent £26.74  Will update sig and with 2 weekly shops to go, should still come under budget.
    - Popped into the car dealership as well and bought the paintstick to cover the mark on the new car - spent £9.77 but got 10% discount as well

A quick lunch of hot dogs in YS rolls and then:
    - nets washed, whitened and re-hung
    - french doors, front and back doors all cleaned, inside and out. Though I wash the middle rail bit, need to use my little hoover tool to finish the job (tomorrow)
    - washed all the windows and frames inside and out - looks fab :D

So still left with the job of books/cds/games to whizz through Zapper again.

I did find out that I've saved £22 a month by not having a window cleaner. That's a whopping £264 a year

Financials then (in their usual format as I'm a creature of habit :D)
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar adpoints - to check tonight
    - Nectar Canvass - to check tonight
    - Nectar search - 100 is completed for this month
    - Nectar card - £54.36
    - Inbox Pounds - nice jump up to £13.41
    - Qmee - nothing more as yet today

So tomorrow is about finishing off the jobs on the To Do list and *shudder* starting on the kitchen :rotfl:

Hope everyone has had a good day. :)

Time for a procrastination break aka a tea break, just seems more apt at the moment!

    This morning I've:
    - washed DS's blazer and sports kit
    - ordered his new school trousers
    - taken up annoying bits of grass growing out the path, nice and clear again now
    - rubbed down precisely one door frame, one door and about 50cm of skirting :rotfl:

Whilst doing that, keep thinking about getting the sports car up for sale now rather than wait until after service and new tax are on and taking pics with the great weather. Having trouble putting the right sale price on it though - none up for sale at the moment and the one I did see was at a garage, not private. What do you lovely people think? I know where I'm going to advertise it, so at least one bit decided.

Will defo go and take pics later - got fantastic greenspace and trees close by for a nice backdrop.

    After lunch other to do's:
    - paintstick other car (has to be done above +15C)
    - more rubbing down
    - books and stuff through zapper

Time for lunch me thinks - LO anything in the fridge :D

  • My lunch was yum yum. I have no clue about car prices. Might be a thread somewhere that can help with that

Idiot of the Month Award goes to .... me :rotfl: Digging deep into the depths of an old dodgy chest of drawers in the garage for more sandpaper - you know the sort, where everything on top starts to wobble and the drawer gets stuck as the top is bowed - what did I discover? My ELECTRIC sander. Not one, but TWO! A normal rectangular one and a little (mouse) triangular one. Bonus was a bag of new sanding sheets too.

Completely forgot I'd got those (last used 12 years ago I reckon), so mouse sander has completed the rubbing down of a second door frame and door. Just the reverse side of that left to do and skirting in utility room - after my hands have stopped vibrating though! :D Could be onto undercoating tomorrow at this rate.

Dinner was a near dust covered Toad In The Hole with mash and veg.

I've paint-sticked the new car 3 times and done 1 lacquer coat, another one of that to do. I think. As I wasn't wearing my reading glasses and the writing is a tad small. :o

Took the sports car out to have it's photo taken (or 10), but then embarked on a leather wipe, plastic fascia wipe and other wipes it needed to look pristine inside. (It still needs a hoover though). Still procrastinating on price and if to advertise before or after next week's service. By time I decide the service will be done won't it? So that's the decision made then. :rotfl: Couldn't find anything relevant on price on the motoring forum, but will look on the car club site I use.

    Financials then:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar adoints - picked up some points last night and more tonight and now up to 54
    - Nectar Canvass - did a 100 pointer last night
    - Nectar card - up to £55.36
    - Inbox Pounds - up to £14.10
    - Qmee - another 10p
    - P!necone - £3 in paypal received and moved to bank account
    - Change bucket - Ooh the 2p's are up to £1 and ready to bank :)

Heard back from Accountant who is now going to be another 3 weeks at getting my figures into his style as some system upgrade is happening first.

Opened Easter cards that arrived in the post, DS has money in lieu of Easter Eggs from the ex's family and Mum bless her, put £10 in my card. £9 to CC, £1 to an Easter Egg I reckon. :D. I shall be back in Ald! sooner than planned!

Looks like tomorrow will be cloudy here with a few spots of rain, so I aim to crack on with the kitchen then.

Hope everyone managed to grab a bit of Vit D today. :)

Another day, another post and another cuppa :D

We've glorious sunshine again, woo hoo, so doors and windows flung open and more work on the kitchen has been done - cracks filled, all washed down, paper and masking tape in place - it's ready for painting, which I've already got.

DS has his hair appointment at 3pm, so will be clock watching a bit after lunch, but think I can get the first undercoat layer on in time (if I start straight after this!).

Still not getting any answer from the Blinds company - he is a one man band, so maybe he's on holiday. I may well have to try and emulsion around them.

Heating still off, but guess water and electric units will be up this week with DS on his games and all the washing, cleaning, mowing, sanding and hoovering that's been going on.

Will get the last lacquer layer on the car and bank the £10 Easter Money, £1 of 2p's and also DS wanted something online which he's given me money for (£20) so I'll add that.

Hope everyone is having a good day. :)

  • We have rain

My electricity will be through the roof this week as DS off school. He was still on computer at 4am when I felt like strangling him for waking me up. No more late nights for him as I had the worst sleep ever.

Have a lovely productive day x

It's cloudy here now too :( Forecast suggests a drizzle but still quite warm.

Grr to DS and waking you up. DS used to get back up out of bed and sneak downstairs to play which would wake me, now I just let him stay up late - found him in his duvet on the sofa asleep the other morning

Pleased to report primer/undercoat is on. Water based paint is so thin and horrible, but the solvent based turns yellow within 6 months (due to the EU ruling the other year where they had to lower an ingredient). So, will need a second undercoat for best result. Rads will get a Onecoat gloss which I have, but looks like I might need another tin of wood gloss. Will see how I far I get with what I've got. Have a new 5L tin of white emulsion and ceiling will defo need 2 coats.

Have managed not to get paint on the kitchen units/worktops or floor. :) It's the first time I've decorated in there since the kitchen refit - which was over 9 years ago  Paid someone last time who did a great job, but not an option with debt busting. Next time though!
