A flying visit between work ending and housework starting!

A great week overall but I feel like I've worked myself hard and it's like this again next week. Against last year, I am slightly ahead on turnover and profit. If everything booked this month goes through as planned, I will be well ahead due to not being on holiday for 2-3 weeks.

En route from work to collecting DS I picked up the repeat prescription, did the business banking and paid in £10 in 20p's. That bumps the CC payment next week when statement arrives to £570. It does leave the change tin deprived, but I can't see a car boot sale happening any time soon. :o

£811 went off to the mortgage this morning with instructions on the phone to set against the larger of the 2 parts. Now down at £127,458. Interest letter should see another drop of @ £2.40. :T Will update sig shortly.

    Financials:
    - Bank account checked.
    - freepostcodelottery (day) checked
    - Nectar adpoints - There's 30 new to do, so should be at 38 soon
    - Nectar Canvass - being chased to do a 40 pointer as it's a review of a product
    - Nectar Search - new month, will get that off the blocks later
    - Nectar card - up at £76.43
    - Inbox Pounds - up at £9.93
    - Qmee - no new today as yet

A review of financials in July shows an expensive month, beginning with that weekend away and ending with budgeted spends in August for the replacement door and window (to be paid and fitted), plumbing (re-negotiated to £260 and fitting 15th Aug), college course, lending the business money for the office start up and a larger CC bill with sat nav and annual house insurance bill on it.

I take heart that none of it is wasted money with nothing to show for it and funds should sit at £6,005 remaining at the end of August. CC repayment schedule and mortgage OP schedule are both still on track.

The school holidays are playing havoc with fuel usage adding £20 this last week and will be the same next week (though it's half of what it would have been in the old car). It's also pushing up the food bill and the electric usage. Will just have to suck it up and straighten out come September I think, as there's still school stuff to get and now a family birthday celebration that's being held at mine (by vote and I was absent :rotfl:).

Time to crack on with the housework now - concentrating on downstairs as that's where Mum will see tomorrow :D DS is tasked with cleaning the bath when he's finished in there and tidying the lounge, I'm off to start in the kitchen after doing Adpoints :)

    The weekend starts here. :)

    Afternoon :)

The sun has gone and we've had a light rain shower, but the grass and garden need it and it's still warm, so quite nice out there really.

Quite a few more jobs crossed off the 'To Do List' last night and today including:

    - housework and ironing all done :j
    - prescription changed (£8.05 spent)
    - meter readings done
    - half work stuff done
    - more shrub trimming done

All I'm left with now is Mum to arrive for the afternoon and the outstanding work, which can wait. :)

    Financials:
    - Bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery (day) checked
    - Nectar adpoints - nothing new but up to 60 points
    - Nectar Canvass and Search - nada yet
    - Nectar card - at £76.43
    - Inbox Pounds up a tad to £10.04
    - Qmee - nothing to add there, still on 33p

Others things on the To Do List, in priority order:

    - Blood tests (found form during tidying up)
    - YNAB completion and use!
    - DS sight test appointment
    - DS school items (bag, shoes, shirts, maths set)
    - Join AAT before course starts in September

Really pleased to have caught up as much as I have and looking forward now to a relaxing rest of Saturday and tomorrow. I can dedicate some time to surveys, IP and Qmee then. :D

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. :)

Had a lovely time with Mum over yesterday and watched some more of the Games last night. Would say I've taken it easy today but spent all morning on work stuff since 8am through to 1pm which has covered 9 out of 11 things to do there (waiting on others for the last 2). Puts me in a good position for the week to come though.

Really not achieved much on the financials again, every time I think I'll have some spare time it's taken away doing something else. But:

    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery (day) checked
    - Nectar adpoints - another 8 with Yorkshire tea, so finishing the week on 68
    - Nectar Canvass - priority to do one
    - Nectar Search - off the August blocks with 10/100
    - Nectar card - still £76.43
    - Inbox Pounds - up at £10.16
    - Qmee - still isn't throwing anything up of late, so on 33p still

I've had to renew the gadgets security, so that has cost £44.99 for the year but covers all of them and is needed.

A couple of things to add to the personal 'To Do List' -

    - DS needs his own USB stick for school. He tends to borrow one of mine which I keep work on and isn't ideal.
    - DS mobile phone and some sort of cheap contract that he can't go over the limit on. Perhaps one of those 30 day SIM only and have my current phone and I'll get a new one free on the biz contract anyway.
    - Buy jiffy bags - will check to see if I've got a salvaged one first though. Need to post off another birthday present early this week, the that completes August's birthday presents and cards and I can start to think about September :D
    - Buy a birthday cake for family celebration Tuesday evening at mine. I've got a 200 Nectar point bonus voucher for that as I brought one this time last year too, so Sbugs here I come.

To tell the truth I brought 2 cakes last year - because Doodle dog managed to get hold of the first one complete in sealed box and eat most of it  This year will be cheap in comparison then :rotfl: and it'll go in a cupboard not on a windowsill. :)

After debating the British thing about having baths vs. showers (I could easily do away with our bath), DS has told me I'm stressed and freaking out..so I may have a bath later and try and relax a bit. Definitely got lots of tension in my shoulders and don't seem to be able to slow myself down very well. I did pamper myself this morning with painting my toe nails and doing finger nail filing/buffing and hand creams. Hair needs a colour, so last box from the Xmas 3 for 2 offer will be used up later. :)

Gammon is roasting away, so that's our dinner tonight and will last us another 2 evenings.

Another sunny and warm day here which is fab and will enjoy walking the dogs when it cools later on. Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday. :)

  • I am jealous again of the hot sunny weather. It is absolutely teeming it down here and rather cold. Tempted to put heating on to dry washing and warm my tootsies. We have a huge treat for dinner tonight and we are having sirloin steak cos we got them free with Morrison vouchers. I am salivating at the thought and will head into kitchen soon to cook them

Ahh, we need some rain, water butt is nearly empty from watering plants - can't believe I am still remembering to do them daily :D

Monday again and a full on day. Work was a nightmare but I am grateful for no office politics being SE having seen some right ones today.

I found a used jiffy bag last night, so the final August birthday present was duly bubble wrapped and bagged up and posted off today - cost £2.80

A flying visit to Sbugs to get the birthday cake for tomorrow night and some soft drinks - £11.34 spent and 200 bonus points voucher used.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked - £570 to the CC will go out on Wednesday as new statement is in. Looking forward to being in the £2's and just 5 more payments to go after that one. :j
    - freepostcodelottery (both) - checked
    - Nectar adpoints - 19 new and done
    - Nectar Search - up at 14/100
    - Nectar Card value up at £76.78
    - Inbox Pounds - up a tad at £10.28
    - Qmee - 11p today, now at 44p in the pot

Good to see some movement on the little financials. :)

The garage side door and window are ready to be installed, so that is booked into Thursday morning when I'll be working at home. Got to clear everything away from that side of the garage first - another job added to the To Do list and will probably be Wednesday night with family here tomorrow night.

I've got to submit another electric reading for the supplier by Thursday as part of the online account management too.

I did my hair colour last night too and thank goodness, the amount of white coming through underneath at the sides of my fringe was  I remember the hairdresser saying it's better to be blonde at this stage...hmm, there's a thought :rotfl:

More work still to do and that's my lot for tonight :)

Hope everyone's week has started off well. :)
