More than 40 years ago my mum sent me to school for two days before accepting that my wrist was actually sore. One hospital visit later and it was confirmed as broken. I did that with DS's toe and when he came out of school the next day with shoe and sock off - complete with teacher saying she thought 'it was a bit more than sore' I had to take notice...hence any injury he has now I act.
He still reminds me of that one...
Anyhow, the patient is still bleeding a bit, so new dressing on and waitress service continues. He'll get an invoice don't worry :rotfl:
Free sofa is lovely and perfect. A tentative drive back home with it half hanging out the boot roped down and it's safely stored in the garage until I get the office move in date
Dinner just about ready, out of the freezer and then I'll catch up again later. It'll be the usual stuff though - financials no movement, housework half done, work prep to do for tomorrow and where has the weekend gone. It's still hot and sunny here too.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Confession time. I sent DD to school with a hurt finger (netball) as it was the last few days of term. End of school went to local hospital and they made us an urgent appt at main hospital next working day. She was in plaster from elbow to hand as it was on the joint. They said she may have to have an operation to correct as it may have set incorrectly. Luckily it wasn't needed and the next time it happened it was straight to hospital no messing.
Good news about the sofa - all coming together. :TOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Evening all
I've just finished working since starting at 8am this morning, a productive day that sets the month up well. As things stand, could be the best August I've had to date.
DS and his toe are doing ok, had to buy new steri strips though at £2.99 and dress it again as they came off, but it seems to have finally stopped bleeding. I've now got 2 x £3 off No.7 make up and both my lipstick and foundation are running low again, so 2 separate purchases coming up to make best use of those.
I'm utterly fed up of salad after only 5 days of salad rolls for lunch and salads for tea. I know how a rabbit feels now :rotfl: Determined not to waste anything though, so will keep going
Financials:
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery (both) checked
- Nectar - not looked at adpoints or canvass today
- Nectar card - value at £74.76
- Inbox Pounds - up a tad at £9.60
- Qmee - nothing there
All slow going on the little extras, but work comes first and should get chance to catch up a bit come Wednesday/Thursday.
I have bagged up £20 in £2 coins in readiness for banking and paying off the CC, making August's payment £560 when the statement lands next week.
Mortgage capital payment I've budgeted £811 - a £170 OP. Was going to reduce that, but the long term effects of paying more now are worth it and though the emergency fund is taking a bit of a hammering with big recent spends, it's not at a level I'm uncomfortable with.
Bedtime as early start tomorrow and I'm shattered and should sleep well with the cooler air now here.
Hope everyone has had a good start to the week.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Another late evening update. It's more of the same, very busy with work, DS's toe is improving (the dressing has stayed on hoorah!) and I've done very little on the making money financials. Oh and salad again for lunch and tea :rotfl:
What has come in today - joining instructions for college in September. Need to start a new folder off (got plenty in my study).
Email quote from the plumber is in to replace the bathroom sink tap and plug and the kitchen tap (both monobloc mixer things) - £336  That seems very expensive to me or I'm out of touch with prices. They do need doing but I'm reluctant at that price.
I've got a coffee table for the new officeBrand new in box for £10 from Gumtree again and 2 miles away. That'll test my DIY skills :rotfl:
Financials then:
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery (both) checked
- Nectar - need to do
- Nectar card value - £74.76 still
- Inbox Pounds - up at £9.66
- Qmee - still nothing new there
I've another long work day tomorrow, a work from home day on Thursday and an early finish on Friday
I did manage to drop my repeat prescription in to the surgery this afternoon and get a birthday card posted 2nd class.
Writing this is reminding me of more things to do, so time to write a list!
- Blood tests - to be done still (Thurs possibly)
- Pick up prescription (Fri)
- Make decision re: plumbing repairs
- Folder for college
- Food shop
- Print accounts and file
- Clean house BEFORE Saturday (Mum is here )
- Book new appointment for DS's sight test - cancelled due to his toe and a work clash again
Apologies I haven't caught up on others diaries, I will when I can.Back on the DFW Wagon:
