I have actually spoken to Rachel and she is aggressive. I think other people have said the same. So is very pro PE and anti shopper.

glewis, I am rather puzzled about you. You have joined this forum just to comment about this matter. You aren't connected to Aldi or PE by any chance?
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Yeah you caught me - I am actually Rachel! Cant anybody have an opinion that doesnt precisely match your own without it being some kind of conspiracy? I have commented several times on your Facebook campaign and came over here to have a look and saw the Aldi thread and commented!!

I said I didnt disbelieve that she was aggressive - I dont know, I have never spoken to her, but how can she help if he wont let her??? And to be fair, you are not exactly a !!!!!cat on here yourself if you accuse anybody with a differing opinion of being some kind of mole!
  • Well - I speak as I find and her letter read like she wanted to help if he contacted her. Did she refuse your appeals?
  • The Brighton Argus are reporting in Saturday's edition that Aldi Portslade are applying to Brighton and Hove council to reduce the time allowed for free parking from 2 hours to 90 minutes. Apparently this is "to reduce disruption during peak times".
No, I have no idea what this phrase means either:huh: other than the obvious interpretation - to facilitate the extortion of money from unwary customers by PE (don't expect that will be included in the application though).

Trisontona asked a simple question in a polite way. Your response was aggressive and disproportionate to say the least, including something that has been deemed unsuitable as it is blanked out. The question and the way it was asked certainly didn't deserve such a response from you.

This was tried last year and locals complained to the Council, seeing as the Planning Consent allows visitors to use the car park to visit the shops in Boundary Road, Portland Rd and Carlton Terrace as well as shopping in Aldi. 90 minutes does not allow even the fittest and quickest person to achieve that every time - including driving in and out!

I couldn't find this in the Argus online edition again? If they have applied again us 'locals' need to complain AGAIN.

OK, I'm away from home for a few days but my partner has a POPLA code now.

Apparently I have also a reply from Aldi. It's from Rachel again (Not Laura) it seems to basically say that they are 'unable to cancel the charge' (that always makes me laugh because they are not unable at all but rather unwilling). It does again ask me to call Rachel again though. Should I do that, write back again or just get on with the POPLA appeal?

I really don't know why Aldi insist on alienating us.....

Oh what fun you could have if you now called Rachel, see what she's got to say first - do not answer ANY question about who was driving and don't be tricked either - then just laugh out loud and say well, never mind, I won't be paying this extortion because I have got my POPLA code now so I have 5 magic words for you, love:
