Diary of a spendy cow

Morning all
A very spendy weekend this weekendPartly due to Mr Mooo deciding he needed tea (he loves Yorkshire tea and normally I buy it from Costco but emergency times called.) £12 later (!!) and I was developing grey hair  I've now spent about £97 of my budget, so the highly ambitious target of spending £130 will be dead in the water and it's damage limitation from this point on :rotfl:
Tonight I'll be making jambalaya with leftover roast chicken and whatever sliver of chorizo is left in the fridge. I'll be getting a meal plan done for the rest of the week too.
Yesterday I combined some Sainsbugs vouchers to get a free insulated freezer bag (by spending £2 on desserts), £1.50 off my£10 shop and 90 points for buying tinned fruit and veg. I'm up to 7380 / £36.90 in points now. I have another £1.50 off a £10 shop to use by Sunday (will use to make sure Mr Mooo has enough food to survive my trip north!) and one for 110 points when I spend £2.50 on chilled pasta and sauce which I'll incorporate in to that trip. If I'm crafty I'll get him to pay for it too
Not a lot else has been going on here. I have my new (to me) computer set up as Mr Mooo has bought himself a fancy one and I'm getting the benefit of his leftover one. There's been a lot of gaming this weekend for me :rotfl: As I won't be using my Xbox as much, I'm sending off a bunch of games to trade-in with Amazon so that should be a voucher of around £40 which will buy me the speakers I want!0 -
Two things -
1. What can I make with leftover roast chicken. We have a boob-and-a-bit left and I have tatties, an onion, tomatoes (tinned and puree), sweetcorn, butter beans, rice, pasta, baked beans, some spices (cajun, Italian, paprika etc) in the fridge/cupboard. I really don't want to spend more money!
2. I occasionally lurk on the Elite thread on Grabbit, but I don't understand how they make any money. If you spend £20 in Sainsbury's but it should have been £15 somewhere else, aren't you still down £20? My brain doesn't compute it well!
Anyway, back to work....help me think of a recipe to make!0 -

Have you got any risotto rice? Could make a lovely risotto with the chicken, onion, sweetcorn and some herbsBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I didn't
I ended up grabbing some sausages and making a chicken and pork sausage casserole thing with beans and paprika. It smells good, I'm just waiting for Mr Mooo to return so we can eat!0 -

Glad to see the decorating is done (sorry late to the party here)
Sums are seeming to be a bit pesky but you're on the case.
Casserole sounds yum. Since moving I realise I mainly have 'winter' food menu.
Must expand that although I don't care the weather we had frog in bog (toad in hole) and it was delish as it always is.

How was your casserole? Sounds tasty
For what it's worth, I don't bother with risotto rice - we just use normal white rice and it's fine. Risotto purists will be horrified, but it work for us... X ttbMortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

I knew there was a reason I was looking forward to getting back here. I am trying not to splutter out loud at work whist reading about cats-in-hats (and goggles, hahaha), frogs-in-bogs and a boob-and-a-bit.

Usual credit card nonsense:
Balance: £188.55 (including a pending transaction for £18.07 that I can't identify, although it matches a petrol spend I've already been charged for...)
To be refunded: £28
New balance: £160.55
Money in credit card account: £149.48
Balance to find: £11.07
I still have no idea what this is!0
