Saturday!
I've had a lovely lazy morning, pausing only to chase a Scottish referendum person off my doorstep :rotfl:
Now it's time for some seriously tactical shopping:
Aldi for cat litter and some fruit
Tesco to return a pair of jeans and use a voucher for £1 off to reduce the cost of my toothpaste
Asda to buy flour for Mama Mooo and use my wombled APG voucher for £1.04 for my bananas
It's payday on Monday and things are looking ok. The food budget is under £20 so is a little tight, especially as I'm aiming to keep to it until August starts, but I have £60 left in spending money which will let me add to savings when I get paid.
Edinburgh Fringe starts next week. Yay!0 -
All sounding good

Things didn't go quite as planned! Now it's time for some seriously tactical shopping:
Aldi for cat litter and [STRIKE]some fruit[/STRIKE] No cat litter in stock so I have to go back today!
[STRIKE]Tesco to return a pair of jeans and use a voucher for £1 off to reduce the cost of my toothpaste[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Asda to buy flour for Mama Mooo[/STRIKE] and use my wombled APG voucher for £1.04 for my bananas Forgot about my voucher as I met a friend I haven't seen in ages at the checkout and got distracted
Scores on the doors for spends were £1.61 in Asda, £3.55 in Aldi and £1.07 in Tesco. I still have £13.46 left of the budget
Today I'm off to the cinema and have a £10 Tesco gift card for all the goodies I'm going to smuggle inThat was from the Mighty Deals offer to get a £10 card for £5 which has worked out nicely as it arrived yesterday and the credit was applied this morning :j

Payday :j
Nectar balance: 7557 points / £37.78
I have £78ish sitting as confirmed in TCB but it hasn't changed to payable. I want it now!
The budgets for the coming month are looking pretty good. As it's Festival time here in Edinburgh I'm going to be out and about a lot, so meal planning and batch cooking will be key. I'm still quite well stocked for meat, so don't have to worry about that, I might even manage a relatively frugal month
My Festival budget is set up, and I've taken out a chunk of cash to pay for meals, drinks and so on. I've got 15 shows booked and will play the rest by ear.
Yay for summer!0 -
Morning all
I've checked the NSK challenge for this month and will be avoiding. There's too many things I can't predict for the coming month - August is always chaotic for me
So, the Mooo Challenges will be:- Resist the urge to eat out every time I have a show in town
- Keep to my food budget of roughly £150
- Remember to spend time at home with Mr Mooo too
- Keep to my Fringe budget of roughly £300 for all shows I've not already booked, food and (crucially) beer
Not a lot else has happened this week. Payday was yesterday so the money shuffle has happened although since using YNAB I'm trying to follow their aim to live off last month's money. I'm nowhere near that yet, but haven't spent anything from yesterday's pay packet as that's allocated to August (If you see what I mean!)
I did spend £30 yesterday on a monitor for my computer. Someone at work was selling one and it's normally £110 new :j That came from my spending money budget from last month which is still (remarkably!) in tact0 -
Enjoy the festival!
I do like that you do 'tactical shopping' - we call it ninja shopping here.
*other shopping styles are available
Well done on doing money shuffling so quickly - almost August - where does the time go??

At the end of the month tactical shopping is the only answer
I somehow have £9 left from my food budget, and Brother Mooo is visiting tomorrow so will use that to get some burgers for his dinner. He's a fairly fussy eater and if I try and make chilli he'll just turn his nose up at it :rotfl:0 -

A good MSE day today:
Picked up tickets to three shows that were free with a code, I only paid booking fees.
Work had catering again so I ate feta and spinach quiche for lunch (free) and took home two cooked chicken breasts which went to make my dinner. I got two litres of free milk too :j It all helps!0
