My current account is down to £90
I decided to spend £49 on Prime yesterday because I love having it and don't want to pay £79 when the price increases. I'm currently the "add-on" to my friend's account but this way I get the streaming too, so once I've caught up with Scandal I'll cancel Netflix and keep the Amazon streaming. My friend has offered to split the cost with me so she can get next-day delivery so I'll be getting £25 from her when I see her on Monday.
It's a good thing I'm away for most of March or I would run out of money :rotfl:0 -
This whole LoveFilm thing is most annoying....what if you want to stream online and have postal delivery of stuff they don't have online but don't want to use Amazon for anything else?!Debt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20
Starter Emergency Fund (#187): £1000/£1000

Credit card balance: £315.37
Payment made: £295.95
Outstanding balance: £19.42
At least the balance is coming down a bit
Current account: £90
Food account: £76.09
Savings: £1721.29
Christmas/Birthday fund: £118.91
Car fund: £95.18
I have £1.27 owed to me in cashback by my bank as they offer special cashback deals from time to time and the last one was for Morrisons. I think I get that next month. I had £20 payable from TCB the other day so took it as cash. I should have taken Clubcard points I suppose, but I've added it to my savings account nonetheless.
I've exchanged my outstanding Clubcard vouchers for redspottedhanky vouchers. I'm annoyed that I have to set up a new RSH account though as the email I use has to match the one I use for Clubcard. I already have £9.50 credit in my main RSH account so I'll be working between two for a while by the looks of it.0 -
New challenge is up for March for NSK. I seem to be sticking to her challenges despite not achieving everything, so the grocery challenge etc seem to have fallen by the wayside somewhat
The aims for March are below and I've added my own notes where needed.- You will set your OWN SFD target. 17 for me! 10 of those are going to be when I'm away as the money is budgeted and paid for already!
- Set your “outgoing” totals now. Choose envelopes for each activity i.e. food, outings etc. Re-jig that spreadsheet or notebook and write EVERYTHING down!
- Food budget will be £20 less this month than last month. Supermarket basics are the staple of your diet, you will meal-plan and you will make your own food. No convenience foods please. That takes me down to £160 for the month. I will try the no convenience foods idea, but Mr Mooo can be a hard nut to crack on that front.
- De-clutter that kitchen. Started that in January already and there's only a little work to be done :A
- No take-outs of any kind. I can do this, but might crack the day I fly back to the UK!
- Summer holiday prep must begin now. Already begun with my Fringe savings jar.
- £3 food bank donation.
- De-clutter that house.
- Find a neighbour / friend / family member that needs a favour.
- You must carry your lunch everyday. No food to be bought in restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, vending machines etc.

I do
There's an Edinburgh West food bank somewhere near me, but I don't want to go traipsing about looking for it if I'm honest - it's sheer laziness
I checked out their website and they have a Donate button so I can send funds via Paypal and they get Gift Aid on it too. Google your local one and see if you can donate that way.
There's often collection points in places like Tesco as well, depending on where your closest one is.0 -
I think the west Edinburgh one is in Rannoch Road. I donated twice in one day at Tesco one time. Once at Tesco at PC World and again about two hours later in Musselburgh. Thanks for that, I will consider online donation

Well, I've already failed at the not buying lunches part of the challenge
I woke up this morning and there was no margarine for toast/sandwiches, which meant I ended up buying a meal deal. Oops. 0
