Morning
I'm back from London and came back with pennies in my purse! The best of which was £14 in £2 coins from the machines in the Underground - all the coins are now safely in my terramundi
Money stuff
Food: £46.37
Current account: £80
With a week to go until I get paid I'm pretty happy with this. I don't have anything expensive planned (yet!) so it should last and I should also be able to add a decent top-up to my savings too0 -
Nice to have you back - you must have had fun
- and your terrimuni must be getting fat now. It won't be able to run away when you want to break it! *evil grin*

Oh is THAT where the £2 coins down here are hiding? I've got a PAYG Oyster card so never use the machines other than to top it up, and that's always either a card of a note!
Glad it was a good weekend, and well done for returning with pennies!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

London Underground machines are an EXCELLENT source of £2 coins. Supermarket self-service machines have also proved to be quite fruitful in the past
MSE activity for today has been to fill in my claim form for my trip to London - we were meant to arrive at 4.45pm and arrived finally some time after 7pm (!) having been diverted via Cambridge from the east coast line. Now, I know nowt about anything south of Newcastle, but the groans from my fellow passengers meant I learned that Cambridge is not the preferred route :rotfl:
The website seems to suggest that if you're delayed over two hours you're entitled to the whole return fare being refunded, so that would be over £40. I will likely get this in rail vouchers rather than anything helpful like a cheque, but it will be good for the next trip away0 -
Cambridge is not a good route! It's much slower than coming across to the East Midland line which is nice and fast into London.
I'm about 45 mins from Cambridge but fortunately don't have to use that line. Good luck with the claim too.
When I paid £20 in £2 coins off CC2 last week, the clerk said it was the most popular saved coin and that's why there are less in shops. Incidentally in the local paper, a house was burgled last week and approx £600 in £2 coins was stolen - someone's large jar collectionBack on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -

I have to admit that's a worry for me, as I must have a couple of hundred pounds in my jar, plus what's in my sealed pot. I'm going to have a think over the weekend, but might break into the terramundi and bank what's already there.
I know that from a Sealed Pot Challenge point of view, as long as the amount you've banked is in your signature Sue is happy to count it0 -
MSE activity of the day - I've opened two savings accounts, one with Halifax and one with RBS. Both are online saver accounts and I have current accounts with each bank so they're easy to access.
I'm going to take my coins from each of my pots to the bank over the weekend. I need to grab some coin bags today and my plan for tonight is to get the £2 coin jar counted. The sealed pot I'll take to work next week as we're beside a branch which has a deposit machine that takes loose coin.
I need to get started with some "to do" lists for next week. I work better when I have a plan0 -
Morning
I counted up my £2 coin jar and had £240 that I could take to the bank :j There's another £30ish in mixed coins (£1 and £2 coins) that'll go back in to start again. I managed to take a small chunk out of the terramundi for counting the coins without breaking it completely, so that's glued back together and the saving starts again today

Your terrimundi really was fat!
I'm glad you've got to use it again - what a terrible waste otherwise.
