    Money stuff

    Current account: £283.50
    Savings: £1718.35
    Food: £103.60

After postage I had £88.21 left from sales, so I've transferred £8.21 to my Christmas account (balance of that is now £93.45) and £80 is in my current account. That's probably what I'm going to use for London next weekend. I have to admit, I'm having second thoughts about going - we have roof repairs to get done (£200) and the car is making a funny noise, so it's going to have to go to the garage sometime this week too. My train tickets are bought, and the flat is already sorted, but I would end up spending at least £100 while I was away which I could probably do without :( I'll need to think on it a little.

    Other bits

    Nectar balance: 2594/£12.97

My Tesco clubcard statement is being produced at the moment, but I should be getting vouchers for about 1600 points, which will be £64 of vouchers :D

I have my £100 of cash for the weekly spend challenge ready to go. I shouldn't spend anything today so that gives me £25 a day until Friday. My mini-aim is to keep £30 back so I can buy a new pair of kitchen scales on Saturday at Fat Club, but with three nights out in a week I don't know how achievable that will be!

How much will you lose on the train tickets Mooo? Are they refundable at all, or do you just lose them? Would you prefer to go, but do it on a budget, or not go at all? It sounds to me as though you do want to, so could you do it using the £80 of eBay money, which is effectively "free" money anyway?

    Hope you work it out!

I would lose the £45 I paid for the tickets as they're non-refundable.

I would like to go but it depends on how much I end up paying out on the car this week. He's going to the garage tomorrow, so I should know tomorrow night how much it'll cost! Think happy thoughts for me...

It's hard to keep a budget as there's a group of us going for a meetup (internet friends from *gasp* another forum!). We're doing Nandos on Friday which is nice and cheap, but there will be dinner on Saturday, lunch on Saturday and Sunday...I don't know if I can do it for under £80...

Budgeteering to be done I think, ladies :D

I'm an eejit - I completely forgot I have a savings account set aside for car repairs and insurance :o There's £302 in there, so that should cover anything non-critical that's wrong with the car. London is still on, hurrah :j

Not a lot else to report here. NSD yesterday but will be a spendy day today. I'm out for tea later, but it's just a carvery meal so should be nice and cheap.

I've done all my Adpoints, and have 52 for the week. I also clicked on an email from Sainsbury's which gave me double points on my next shop. I'm not desperately needing anything from there, but the cat's food isn't on offer anywhere so I may as well go there and get it with double points :D

Still no word from the garage - bah!

I've made my £10 donation to my local food bank as per the January challenge. They take online donations so they got £2.50 giftaid from that as well :j My signature shows that in the calendar month for January I'm well under budget, although I will need to get milk/bread etc at some point this week.

With that in mind, I'm reducing my food budget for February again - the February challenge NSK is running tells us to reduce it by £20, so my budget will be £180

Good to read London is still on, was telepathically willing you to go in the background and have a great time! :D

Fingers crossed for the car repairs.

I've got a few extra point vouchers for Sainsbugs too - 80 extra for £2 spend on baking items which I am tempted by as low on flour and quite keen to start using ye olde breadmaker.

Hope the cat isn't eating better than you and Mr Moo :rotfl:

Well done on the challenges, going great guns. :)

The garage have been on the phone - the brake pads need cleaned and adjusted and that should sort the squeak :D One of the wheel bearings is also wonky, but as they only replaced it in July they're fixing it under warranty and without labour costs :j The total bill is only going to be £94 including VAT, so I really can't complain at that.

I'm chuffed with how I've done with the challenges this month. I am amazed I'm considering a food budget of £180 for February as I have had a budget of £250 for the last year or so, but it feels doable now!
