    Honestly Beanie, I couldn't believe it. I hoped for about £150 (!)

Once postage is off I might have enough to pay for my trip to Craftcamp without denting my savings!
  • Wow that is amazing!

I don't have anything like that but I have been collecting stuff to do a carboot once the weather gets better. I hate doing them but need to do one.

While I remember, part of my £6 spend in Poundland yesterday went on two DVDs - they had LOADS of comedy ones for (obviously) £1 each. I got a Ross Noble (£6 on Amazon) and a Russell Kane one (£3.46 on Amazon but I saw the show at the Fringe and it's a corker!). The Ross Noble one is for Mr Mooo but the other is for the Christmas pile.

There were others too - Michael McIntyre, Andy Parsons and someone else whose name I forget!

Thanks for that - I'll try and get there early tomorrow morning before my work meeting. Would be perfect to get a couple to put away for DS's Xmas stocking. :T

    Accounts:

    Food: £129.85
    Current account: £304
    Savings: £1474.75

I've made £231 so far - one of my sales was £90 and she's paying me on Friday. Last night was LONG - I spent it parcelling up everything that's paid for :rotfl: I'm heading to the Post Office for it opening at 8am so I don't have to hold up too many people later. That profit will plummet like a stone once I've paid for postage :rotfl:

I'm up to 12 NSDs :j There is now no chance of 20, but 15 will be a good achievement for me. It's really helping me to reduce the amount of money I'm spending in supermarkets too as if I buy food I'm counting it as breaking the NSD.

I have £229.30 sitting in my bank account from Facebook sales. I've put £29.30 into the Christmas/birthday account and £200 to my savings. I've also transferred £43.20 that I received from my second job to my savings. Annoyingly, I got a letter yesterday saying my contract won't be renewed for this. It's only two hours a week, but it's a handy source of extra income.

Adpoints earned this week are only 53, but it's better than nothing I suppose ;)

My savings account is now sitting at a lovely £1718.35 :D That'll drop when I've been away as I'll take a few hundred pounds with me, but I want to have fun while I'm on holiday and not count every penny.

    Happy Fridays to all!

Brilliant crafty selling there Mooo - well done! :T

Did you get to the bottom of the capital -v- term reduction on the mortgage OP's? We're about to move a query that we've raised with Virgin Money forward to the ombudsman on this as they've done precisely that to us - changed our contractual payment to take account of OP's made. Now we're limited to OP'ing 10% of the closing balance as at the previous year, so of course the reduction on contractual payment means we'll hit that limit sooner - we're seriously unimpressed. Rather think that the clue is in the word "contractual" though - and also that nowhere in the T's & C's we're bound by does it allow them to do this - they're trying to use the VM terms, rather than our Northern Rock ones!

The bank lady had no idea EH and I haven't been past my own branch to speak to the mortgage adviser either. I haven't had another letter and have made a total of three OPs in the last month, so I'm going to leave it until the February payment comes out and check it against the letter confirming my new fixed rate payment.

I'm not too worried anyway, as I'm overpaying such small amounts and have no danger of reaching 10% of my overall mortgage balance anyway.

    Plans for next week

I'm trying to sort out my budget for the weekly spend challenge for next week. I have a LOT going on and I'm getting all confused...

Sunday: going for a Sunday drive and some chips with Mr Mooo :D Because we live near some lovely coastline, we like going for a drive and then sampling some of the better chip shops of the east of Scotland :) Estimated spend: £10
    Monday: Nowt planned as yet.
Tuesday: Gig in Glasgow. I'm working there during the day anyway, so just to pay for dinner and a drink with a friend. Planning on Weatherspoons. Estimated spend: £15
Wednesday: Carvery with former colleagues. We try and go monthly. I have a voucher for 20% off. Estimated spend: £15
Thursday: Meal out with a friend (been planned for ages) It's three courses for £15 but there will be tipping (and wine... :o ) Estimated spend: £30
    Friday: Nothing planned.

So that's £70 without even thinking about it  I'm going to have spends on food too, so I think I'll aim for £100 and hopefully come in far under that...
