It really was. We've not always got on well, so we were both worried that ten days would be too much, but it was a brilliant holidaytomtombeanie wrote: »Welcome home! Sounds like your break was just what you needed & has recharged your batteries...
It did, but my batteries have taken a battering since I got back. I've had a rejection for a job I applied for and for the uni course I applied to, so have no clue what my plans are now.
Still, onwards and upwards. I just need to look for work and anything else will fall in to place I suppose.0 -
Valuable ten minutes spent moving Mr Mooo on to a SIM-only deal for his phone and saving me £10 per month
Now scanning the Virgin website to see how to reduce costs there. It's a fun life I lead...0 -

Lovely to see you back Moomin - welcome home
Glad you had a fab holiday and well done on spends. :T
Hope things come good for work, a real shame about the uni course though. Will you apply again for next year?Back on the DFW Wagon:

Will you apply again for next year?
Not sure, depends on what happens with finding work and if I find a job I love I might not want to take four years off for uni. There's a lot of thinking to be done.
On to the money:
Current account: £260 - I've filled the car with petrol and have taken out £50 cash including £20 I owe my friend. We're meant to pay £20 each in to a savings account but the direct debit isn't behaving so I'm repaying her for last month. She has to suspend payments anyway as she just bought a new car, so that'll be another wee reduction in my outgoings.
Savings: £1820.20
Food: £147.35 This is to last as long as possible so I don't have to dip in to savings. I have a lot of meal planning to do and a bunch of batch cooking on Sunday I think
Many Nectar points to collect on Adpoints, but I'm working my way up slowly. Being away for a couple of weeks seems to have increased the amount I get0 -
Morning all
I didn't do too well on the budget front this weekend as I spent a tenner or thereabouts at the farmer's market (such nice veg though!) and then £50 on two dresses and a cardigan a friend was getting rid of. The dresses are lovely and in great condition so I don't feel *too* bad about the spend. I got my last payment from my second job which was just over £60 so I didn't batter my budget too badly
Money:
Current account: £200
Savings: £1872.10 (plus £288 once a cheque clears for roof repairs)
Food: £132.30
Car: £195.18 - only noteworthy because my brakes are squeaking again
Nectar points are at 3834/£19.17 with some Adpoints to be added and my Tesco balance is 1161 points. Half of the Tesco balance is from redeeming Topcashback though so it's not as impressive as it looks0 -
Just a thought on the car brakes - are they squealing when you apply the brake pedal? It could just be brake dust build up particularly if they are newish pads or discs, though I know you've had work done on them before.
It's not a French make of car is it? Well known for it if so and just needs brushing out - my dealership used to do it for free as it wasn't a fault, just an embarrassing noise!Back on the DFW Wagon:

It's definitely that - that's what it was before. It's a horrible noise though and I'm pretty sure that we need new pads too as the man at the garage hinted at that last time we took the car to get looked at. If it happens every two months though I'm going to get sick of it though
He's a Fiat 500, so he's Italian...I think that makes him more tempremental0
