We love polls in Northern Ireland. I am polled out to be honest and am not going to engage in another one as the outcome is irrelevant to me

Look to be honest with you I don't care what is posted in the Forum. I just find it strange that people use a money saving Forum to discuss topical issues of the day.

If it was a Forum about IT issues would we use it for general chit chat? Or would we ask for comments about gay blood donors in a holiday Forum?

People have a right to stick whatever they want on a Forum and if their interpretation of money saving extends to general issues of the day then so be it.

That would be my interpretation of it too. The poll also seems to support that view (so far). I'm sorry if you feel I've bulldozed my opinion through but I have time on my hands - time to waste on things like this. I certainly don't want to be divisive or be seen to be trying to exert ownership over anything. I just enjoy a good old blether here and thought I was adding a bit of life to the forum by posting news items.

I do hope you won't fall out with me over the issue? That also goes for anyone else who's involved. I'm here to enjoy myself and pass the time of day - not to annoy others. :)

The site has evolved from being purely about money, as Jeremey Paxman noted when a finance section of his programme was replaced with weather updates he said "this is based on the popular notion that while only some people are interested in financial forecasts, everyone's interested in the weather".

I have no problem with that GlynD. I look forward to your future posts. I have nothing more to say on the matter.

Glynn - I've found with you that at times you float around this forum spoiling for a fight - you've quite extreme views on some things that some of us find uncomfortable.

Yes post non money saving threads but please apply some common sense.

Shaz I'm certainly not spoiling for a fight. I'm sorry if I've given you that impression. Like all Ulstermen I may get a little "passionate" in discussions but my views are generally very moderate.

You're probably referring to the discussion you and I had on house prices where I wouldn't back down. I could have been a wee bit thrawn that day. ;)

The options are very simple do we allow people such as Glynn to brighten up what would otherwise be a dreary forum? Or do we want to get inline with the England, Scotland and Wales forums where the most recently updated threads were last updated in September?

I agree with you on the local chit chat and I also find a lot of solutions and advice elsewhere on the site but for specific local information there's no doubt this forum is very helpful. I've just posted one such thread myself.
