Don't do the kids rooms, at 23 and 18 they can live like pigs as long as they keep the doors shut! DDs room is fine, just needs a bit of a dust, DS's room is a dump but I don't go in except to lift his washing basket. I have done the kitchen instead, and been cooking soup and stuff for the freezer. Working tomorrow and Saturday this week, so as my bedroom is a work in progress that just leaves the living room for Friday, a hoover and dust and it will be reasonably ok!

Helen I hope they now what is causing Mr Js pain and can sort t asap now.

Friend with BC starts chemo in 2 weeks. Other friend who had BC last year has been round and her and her hubbie are splitting up. Close walking friend is having 'procedure' on her foot tomorrow. I can see the Dusty support system being a bit stretched in the weeks ahead. Added to SiL not coping well, DH has gone down there tonight to get paperwork for me to deal with and oodles of Governor stuff to do supporting the Head flying will be a lick and polish!

Blimey Oh Dusty One, you're certainly going to need plenty of chocolate and Flylady support over the next few weeks and months, aren't you? Virtual chocolate heading your way for you, your friends and your family.

Lovely Lodger, who is Sardinian and who left a few weeks ago, gave me her grandmother's 'Lemon Jelly' recipe - effectively, Lemon Marmalade. I've just made my first batch (which made me realise that the recipe lost quite a bit in translation, like quantities of water) and will require very careful tweaking to make it reliable, but OH BOY is it wonderful! I've never tasted anything so lemony.

I spoke to the locum vet this morning about Mrs Dog, and he's recommended a completely different food following on from my observations over the past 48 hours. She eaten two meals today and didn't need any morphine. Major, major victory as she's been crying with pain after every meal for the past 10 days.
    Better is good enough.

Helen bus load of positive vibes winging your way. I guess you know what's what by now and however things went I hope what needs to be done will be done and that things will go well. Remember we are never sent a challenge in life without also being sent the strength to cope.

Dusty can see the support system will need a lot energy but leave time to look after yourself as well.

Feeling positive this evening. My strength returned with a bang today which is just as well with the toddler to take care of. He was extra good and lovely so we had a really nice time. Bugs seem to take so much longer to get over as you get older.

I haven't achieved so much in the cleaning line but I have put all my summer clothes in the loft and all my winter clothes have been ironed and put away. I still have a heap to go to the CS but that will have to wait till we get back from France next week.
  • Ooh Errr, I've been battling a filthy cold all weekend and am only just starting to feel human again today. Yesterday however I took everything out of my chest of draws and chucked anything that wasn't useful or of utter sentimental value. I do this every so often and it'd been a while. The whole thing got a good dose of polish and I felt rather virtuous even if completely exhausted!

It really makes a difference doing this, I notice the place looking more 'loved' and I feel less overwhelmed.

Hugs to those who need 'em and a wave of my duster to everyone else!

  • Not really. Where are you coming in from? The bus system is very good but it all depends where you enter the metropolis.:D

FBO I will be coming in from Leicester way as I'm going to see friends before. Thanks too to Ionafan if either of you two ladies could help I'd be most grateful.

HJ I truly hope that today you & DH have had good news
Dusty If you ever want to chat or have some support yourself please feel free to PM me, I may not be able to physically help but just writing it down can help.
HB pleased to hear Mrs Dog is improving

No flying here - had my sewing class tonight and I'm exhausted after my cooking/baking frenzies the last two nights. I have however started to cut my dress pattern out, the fabric I've brought should (if I don't mess it up) look nice with the style of dress I've chosen to make.

    Goodnight all
