Also you don't need a prescription to buy frontline or advantage.

I know :p but Honey Bear said the dog food was prescription, so I was just explaining you can do that online with them :D

I've heard that dobermanns don't tend to get fleas anyway due to their fur or something. Not sure if I believe it or not so I still use flea treatment, and, touch wood, I've not seen a single flea yet.

Thanks Raphael. It's quite likely we use the same vet practice. I've checked v e t uk online, and they're cheaper than the practice by about 20% for it, but before I go down the road of putting in a huge order to save the delivery charge I need to talk to the vet she sees normally. The food was prescribed by the (brilliant) locum and the packaging very clearly states that feeding it longterm is not standard practice. It's excellent in emergencies and I will be using it in future for just such occurrences though rather than chicken and rice. (After three years of having to cook for Dog, I'm heartily sick of doing so.)

Mummyroysof3 you sound as though you could do with a hug. Please consider yourself well and truly (((hugged))).

    How's DS2 this morning Dusty?

For the first time ever, having done all the flying I consider this house needs (as opposed to wants), I intend to have a guilt-free day off -although a gremlin at the back of my mind is muttering 'Dust' and 'Dining Room.' I know that if I did that, the gremlin would only pick another job off an endless self-nagging list.
    Better is good enough.

Definitely take the day off, Honey Bear, and have some ME time - gremlins must wait.

I still can't fly properly in this house, but today we are moving downstairs so that the upstairs rooms are left as empty as possible for the carpenter and electrician. My computer, printer and desk furniture have all been transferred to the dining table (luckily we have another table in the kitchen, so no meals on trays) and I am about to bring down all our clothes and bedding and set up in the downstairs bedroom. Then we've got a set of drawers to move, carpet to take up and walls to strip. Curry which I made last week is defrosting for tea, so as soon as I've drunk my after-lunch coffee I must get back on the bandwagon. WMx2 done this morningand out on the line. I actually managed to unpack a case of kitchen stuff yesterday :D

Hope Dusty's DS2 is feeling better today and the little Moos are being nice to one another. (((Hugs))) to Bossy, Lozzy and Mummyroysof3, and sticks for all BDs. Glad you're enjoying your class, Valli.

Enjoy what's left of Sunday, everyone...

    Afternoon all

Honey Bear and Ionafan thanks for asking he is fine now and has done an hour out the front sweeping leaves from the driveway and path outside our house with me.

Rain has started here now but but dry before that so a few more outstanding garden jobs completed.

2 beds stripped and washed but drying will take a while.

I'm going to hoover everywhere now and put the gammon on to cook and then sit and write my remaining reports whilst DH and DS3 are playing squash.

    Hope everyone is well x

I'm overseeing packing by DS1 who is off to the mountainous countryside for his national service (national citizen scheme) tomorrow. So far he has no jumpers/ fleeces in so must be expecting a heat wave. I'm hoping I don't have to collect him early as the centre is on a road which is often closed in bad weather (May be near Valli) and I don't like steep roads.

    Garden tidied
    Ironing done
New bath mats & hand towel purchase in sale
Roast dinner in progress / eaten

    Half term here

Totally off topic but has anyone had an avon mascara? I usually have clarins but funds won't allow that at the minute:)

Also meant to say thanks for those who sent me wishes for my Dad. We had a big barny today as I invited him for lunch and he said he couldn't come. His friend was there yesterday and was cooking his dinner so I assumed she would be doing the same today. Apparently she doesn't cook on Sundays so I'm supposed to know that:mad: I took him a plated up dinner after we had eaten ours and he then decided to tell me this. I told him that I would help him as much as I could but I wasn't psychic and he would need to tell me!
Funny how I am now feeling like the parent with him as my child:(
