I've had a bit of a strop tonight I'm afraid. And I cried
I am so tired I just can't take any more squabbling. It's pushing me over the edge. So they have been warned and we are going nowhere this weekend until they can show me they can behave decently to each other
Question: can I make biscuits from a packet of sponge mix? If I perhaps added more flour?
Had a nice tea tonight - kids don't eat the skins of jacket spuds (nutters! It's the best bit!) so I scooped out the middle of 2 spuds, they had half with some fish and I mixed the other half with chilli jam and cheese, put back in the skins and grilled, it was lush!
Blitzed kitchen after, even washed grill pan, set DW going and wiped all round.
Me mountain: haven't kept up with mine this weekI won't be having a star. But I have lost weight this week :T not been grazing y'see

Girls beds stripped.. I have surprise new duvets for the 2 girls and I am intending to whizz out the sewing machine.. but I have had that intention for 2 years! :eek:LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Oh bossymoo I feel for you. We have been having a fair bit of squabbling going on lately and mine are old enough to know better. It really gets to me though. I am actually happy to say that both of them are in their bedrooms tonight quietly engrossed in laptops/xboxes.
So, bathroom cleaned, bedrooms dusted and hoovered, stairs and landing hoovered, shepherds pie made, eaten and debris washed up, bread rolls done in bread maker and baked. Having five minutes then off to tackle the kitchen floor.0 -
Bossy hugs. Week before half term and kids are tired and tempers short. Tomorrow will be a better day.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

If you're a fraud, I'm a total fraud, then. No work outside the home, no kids. In my world, anyone who does any housework is totally wonderful. It sounds as though you're exhausted, and I'm not surprised, trying to do all of that.HB, you'll know about this stuff, she's got to have a Tramadol tablet each day with her dins, as well as various supplements for her joints. I'm told she just hoovers them down with the food, so we'll see later.
All three of my oldies have had it prescribed at one stage or other, and I've yet to come across one that would just hoover it down. All of them have spat them out on the first attempt. I'm told it's made to taste disgustingly bitter deliberately but I have my doubts about that. Labs have the reputation for being the greediest creatures, so you never know. (None of mine could/can resist a scrap of whoopsied scrunched up M&$ Liver sausage slices I keep in the freezer for just such emergencies - with the dose in the middle.)
Bossy: You're only human. We all have a strop occasionally - the kiddiewinks will survive. Well done on the weight loss.
I've spent the day actually cleaning various bits of the place. Actual dusting occurred, the vacuum cleaner has been kickstarted and a couple of laps completed, spag bol sauce made with whoopsied mince and frozen. Halo has been polished to *sparkly* state.
Parsley, basil, chives and broad beans all sown in troughs a couple of weeks ago have all germinated and are growing.
Mrs Dog has decided it is her job to guard the bed when I/we're out., By sleeping in the middle of it. Bad dog. She's started grunting with pleasure and happiness again, so I can't be cross with her.
Last week's shopping list found, and I'd only forgotten two things off it. This week's has now been lost.
And I was so busy cleaning the hob and washing the kitchen floor I forgot to bid on something on Ebay, collection only from a town we're going to visit in three weeks and no one else bid on it. Grr.Better is good enough.0 -
PS For Skinty
Fifty years ago, in an army school in Germany on 1st April, a small boy with a reputation for extreme mischief and cheekyness was seen standing at the front of our class next to the form teacher for the whole of the first lesson.
At break time he was asked why he was there, and he said he didn't know why the teacher hadn't just given him the long stand he'd been sent to ask for.
That memory's stayed with me all these years, and I can't remember his name but your post brought that morning back and it made me smile.Better is good enough.0 -

Thanks Valli. I have, he's happy to let me have it for the starting price and I'm waiting for him to invoice me so I can pay for it and it'll be mine! It's something I've been after for months and I've missed several because they've gone for more than I can afford. Yay!Better is good enough.0
