    Hi all.

Bungalow is pretty much up to scratch, just awaiting the arrival of Ruby Labrador at 17:30-ish this afternoon.:o I have to make a cherry pie and a banana cake in the meantime though, so that'll mean yet another clean-up of the kitchen.

Dusty I'm putting another prop in the Dusty Support System for you, ok? Make sure you look after you while you're offering support to all your friends.:o

HB so pleased you've found something Mrs Dog can eat without pain. What is she eating now, just out of curiosity? :o

Helen thanks for the update – it sounds all very unpleasant, but thank the gods they're actually going to do something to help poor Mr J. Posivibes continuing for you both, my friend.

Well done Mr & Mrs Ionafan on your 1 stone weight loss awards.:T

Valli good to “see” you - “no sick child” vibes duly on their way – I can sympathise, it's worse (imho) than clearing up after dogs! If I was closer, I'd gladly take the keyboards to clean – it's something I have much experience of (Mr LW eats all manner of food at his desk at home while he's perusing G@meSpy.)

OK, I need to get on the buggy and nip to the post box, then open today's mail that just arrived, then I'd better crack on with the baking, or there'll be no pud tonight, and no cake for Mr LW's lunchbox tomorrow, and I'll be in the doghouse.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Good afternoon  I'm doing loads, and need to post more often :o Operation Showhome, my personal challenge, continues apace, but as I've not posted, I have no stars  My own fault - must try harder :D

H!ll's I/D - it's an eye-wateringly expensive prescription food, but I used it for (the real) Honey Bear post-operatively. In the grand scheme of things it probably works out cheaper than chicken and rice followed by introducing another tinned food coupled the morphine, which she did need but now doesn't. Not sure how long she'll have to be on it, but Crappie wasn't agreeing with her.
      Better is good enough.

Speaking of the OH, got an amusing email from him today. He has a young loon (17) working as an apprentice at the company, he sent him into the tool shop this morning to pick up a left handed hammer. Sounds mean but the poor chap is rather gullible, one of the other guys once sent him into the shop to pick up some tartan paint for a pole and he fell for that too :rotfl:

      x

I think it is just a right of passage in certain industries, stops them being "wet behind the ears", before they start handling dangerous tools and machinery under instruction.

My EX was notorious with apprentices, he had a ready stash of "requests" and the storesman would always be onside.

      Tartan Paint
      Left handed spanners
      Sparks for the grinder
      Sky hooks
      Bubble for the spirit level
      Glass hammer
      Rubber nails
and his personal favourite a long weight

"Are you an apprentice working with X?"
"yes, he has sent me down for a long weight"
"Stay there, don't move I have just the thing......" storeman disappears for ages
"excuse me, I think you have forgotten me X sent me down here and I have been waiting for ages for a long.......WAIT "

The young Skints grew up with these stories, so never ever got caught out with these play on words-

Right, waiting for Manager at Mr M's to ring me back, but builder came knocking this morning all apologetic, ceiling is going to be re-skimmed next week. 2 more fence panels ordered for delivery tomorrow.

Ds and my bedding fed to WM and pegged out, although I now have to wash my mattress as DS managed to find a stray choccy miniroll left around by DD3 as most of the coating flaked onto my mattress.....going to wait for cheap leccy tonight and get the v@x on it.

just debating whether I should get the iron out now and iron the pillow cases for a laugh.....(flyladies know I don't iron!) or just whack them on:rotfl:
The cold never bothered me anyway

I've had quite a productive day off. Took dd1 to her dance exam, went shopping, did most thing off the list for today. Plus I used up some bananas and made banana flapjacks, and used up some leeks that needed using and have just put them in the slow cooker to make leek and potato soup yum!
