Hi EE I reckon you are right. We need another challenge. Well I do anyway. So there are 10 weeks until Christmas and I am going to try and lose a stone by then. I know this is a small amount but I am really really struggling to get anything off just now so I will go for 1 stone. Anyone want to join me.
Here is the reason I need to try and lose weight. I sorted out my wardrobe today and here are the results
Pic 1 are all the clothes that don't fit
Pic 2 what I have left in my wardrobe that does fit
Pic 3 all packed away yet again
Now as you can see I have no shortage of clothes JUST A SHORTAGE OF CLOTHES THAT BLOODY FIT.
So tomorrow I start again. Limit the food and up the exercise. I am fed up with myself. I have met a really nice guy through mutual friends. We get on fab and have tonnes in common. He is just my type but I saw my friend's husband saying to him that I was perfect for him and I just know from his reaction that he isn't attracted to me. I just smiled and pretended that I hadn't seen or heard anything. Such a shame and I am scunnered. Don't get me wrong I'm not madly in love or anything ( far from it) but it could have been fun. Never mind. As my wee Mum used to say ' whit's fur ye, will no go by ye' Translated as what's for you will not go by you :rotfl:
I have found a pair of trousers today that'll fit me and I have bid on 4 pairs on e-bay. If I get them then they will see me through for a good while along with the tops I have and I will not be the office tramp. If I manage to get a stone off then I have a good few things I will get in to for over the festive season. Arggh !! I am annoyed at myself yet again5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
:mad::mad::mad:at ex husbands
My ex's birthday today. Told you guys about DD not wanting to go to his birthday dinner last night. I think tbh she wanted him to persuade her and show her he actually cared but he didn't. Well tonight he put on a facebook status saying he was away for a wee overnight stay with his wife. He stated 'thanks to my wonderful wife for a brilliant birthday and for beng the best thing in my life' DD is making a big song and dance about how funny she thinks it is but she is gutted. I could throttle him - bar steward. She replied saying 'that's funny . I would have thought your children would have been the best thing in your life, but then again they never have been- shame' I'm a little bit heartbroken for them tonight ............Again . Me delurking again. I often wonder which is the better option. A child which has a very distant contact with its parent or one which has no contact whatsoever with its parent. My DS is now 33 and his father has not had any contact for over 24 of those years - his (fathers) choice entirely & I really do mean choice. My DS tells his friend (& acquaintancies) that his father is dead. Whilst he does have a photo of his father it is now almost 30 years out of date and he has said that if he saw him on the street he would not recognise him. It is hard to know what to do in these circumstances but basically all we can do is just be there for them and try to persuade them that one parent is enough and that the other can't help being an a******e but put much more politely of course.0

Isn't it odd how we can put up with the evil ex's behaviour until it impacts on our children? Until recently my two had a good relationship with their dad but about a year ago, he and dd had a major fall out that hasn't repaired. I don't think I could now be civil if I saw him or his new partner in the street.
On another note, if you're serious about the weightloss, count me in for 8 pounds by Christmas.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. I will join you in the loose 1 stone by Xmas - best put the batteries back in the Wii so I can weight myself.
Any news on your op yet? I can't help thinking that your weight has been more up and down since you were diagnosed with kidney stones.0 -
De-lurking to wish you luck and to see if I could join you too on the weight loss. I need to lose 3 or 4 stone to be happy, be bettter for riding my hossie and would feel better looking in that mirror. I am a single gal too now so know would feel better in myself if I was slimmer. I too have a wardrobe of clothes that dont fit but refuse to part with them (some of them even have tags on still
). My nephew was round last week and had a water fight, needed to find something dry for him to wear, found an old t-shirt for him, I used to wear it when I was 18 too small but kept as wanted to fit into it, it is a wee bit big for my newphew but not far off, he is 4 OMG, I may never get that slim again!

Lots of lovely messages
PLMBL thank you for saying I'm fantabulous. Smashing word
Patanne, hi there. It's my ex's choice as well how little he sees the kids. I would rather cut off my hands than not see my kids albeit DS is testing my bloody patience tonight. We can only do our best for them and hope it all turns out well in the end xx
INOD I have no relationship with my ex. I never ever communicate with him and haven't done so for a number of years. There are so many things that I cannot forgive him for. I was talking to my friend tonight about it all. She has a son who discovered he was a Dad from a one night stand and although initially he wasn't great ( he was only 16 ) he now pays maintenance and goes half for absolutely everything for his child. I told her to be very proud of him. He is my Godson and we are both very proud at how maturely he is facing his responsibilities. Long may it last. We would kick his backside mind you if he ever let her down
EE no op required but I agree my weight has been a huge issue since I got the kidney stones. I am now being tested for coeliac and thyroid problems. Back to GP this Friday for blood results so we will see.
Baldybear, I have more than a stone to lose as well but I want to set myself realistic targets so I will not be disappointed and get disheartened so a stone is what I am aiming for which should hopefully be easy enough. Hopefully being the operative word
So welcome to all in the challenge. I weighed myself this morning. I downloaded an App on my phone that keep track of weight loss, bmi, body fat and a few other things. I hope this motivates me. I also have runkeeper and will try and do some walking every day even if it is only 20minutes. I weighed myself this morning. I took the stairs in work today and I walked 2 miles tonight. All sounds good until I confess to eating 4 packets of wotsits over the evening. Oh well it's all a start !!
The three of us discussed my ex when we were having dinner tonight. I was trying to say that their Dad has no parental experience really and that was why he was so rubbish at it. DD just said well he's had me for 20 yrs Mum so he should have a clue by now. What could I say ?? She's right lol
NSD today which is the first one in a long time. Except for £5.20 for a pair of trousers from e-bay. xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Sorry my mistake I thought you were waiting for an op.
If you are coeliac the weight will fall off you - you won't be able to eat much and probably not wotsits (must check ingredients)
Is there a reason you had all the wotsits - were you hungry or just bored?
To be fair wotsits only have about 98 calories per bag so about 400calories which if you ate well for the other parts of the day might have levelled out.
I am eating gluten free (since May) and it's great - in the evenings when I fancy something I look in the cupboards and remember I can't have anything and go and sit back down again:rotfl: (obviously I can have some things but I choose not to buy them so then I am not tempted)0 -
Following on from EE's message, I have underactive thyroid, hope that you dont get it, its a pain in the rear, makes weight loss doubly hard, I am currently fighting to get a referral to specialist as I know I need my meds upped which will help but my GP says I am ok, head wall!!
I weighed myself this am too, not a happy sightGood luck with your progress
