Decorating starts on Wednesday and should finish by Thursday. looking forward to seeing what it looks like. Carpet ordering on Friday to see when it can be fitted, soon I hope.
Filled holes and cracks up yesterday and came up with some ideas for the next renovation next year. Better save up lots of pennies then because it will be more expensive than the current room to drag it into the modern world.
Window quote went well and it will be fitted sometime between now and Christmas. Looking forward to that as although it's a job I was planning on doing in the future it's better done now and the gaps can all be filled in reducing draughts. Plus it will look like a more modern version and better version of what's in there now and should fit properly.
Had a day out on Saturday and spent under a tenner on coffee and cakes for 2 which fits the budget. Also paid into work collection for a wedding present so today makes it NSD 8 and no clothes bought so far this month!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Another complaint to the long term loan company all sorted out now after yet another mistake made by them. Compensation payment made straight away which is going towards the new window. Good result there.
NSD 9 today and no clothes spend day 11.
Quite a boring day at work today however a nice surprise when the decorator came round a day early to put the first coat of paint on ready for the rest to go on tomorrow and Thursday, already it looks more like a room at long last!
I've found a good priced desk and chair at last at a super bargain price. I think I'll go for this one as it suits just what I need, something small and neat. The only downside is needing some drawers for paper work so I might go for the other one I've seen at a higher price but as I need some storage it might work out cheaper this way. Anyway I'll decide soon!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
What a good day for me today - firstly a NSD making it NSD 10.
Some spends but none that count as spends as all budgeted for by saving through the year
The spends were half the Christmas presents ordered - out of present budget I save into each month, then graduation gown ordered out of the savings for the big day which also include taking my family out for meal afterwards to say thanks for coming.
Then home to find a letter from the Financial Ombudsman upholding my PPI complaint that the bank had turned down. Worth waiting a year for that investigation to be completed!
And finally my spare room is finally looking like a room again, the painting is looking good. Looks great and fresh and clean just what I wanted it to look like after all those years of neglect by all those previous owners. Carpet ordering next!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
A lovely carpet ordered quickly before work today and it's being fitted on Monday which is just what I wanted. Here's hoping it get fitted well.
Apart from that, not much to report apart from looks like the decorating will be finished tomorrow then it's the big tidy up after work!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Well what can I say for today while I'm feeling very hormonally crampy big style again.
Decorating has finished, quite a lot of mess to clear up and I'm glad it's finished. Looks good so far, very bold and bright wallpaper, much more than I expected but it certainly looks like a room for the first time in a long time. Think the carpet will pull it all together along with curtains going back up on a new curtain pole. This time next week it should be back to being a proper room once I buy a new desk and move the computer up there to its new home.
A busy afternoon after work, gave the bathroom a deep clean to get rid of all dust after all the work. Then made a big pot of batch baked beef to make a cottage pie for 2, 6 portions of spag Bol and 4 portions of chilli. Not bad for one 454g pack of mince, lots of veg, lentils and oats and 3 tins if cheap tinned toms.
Tomorrow the old pine desk is being collected freeing up some more space at last and I can start moving some things back into the homes!
Only pennies spent today were those to pay the decorator but as these came out of the specific savings account for the house and are planned saved spends and don't count!

The spare room is finished! Carpet went down today and the only jobs left to do are put the curtain pole up along with the curtains and move some furniture in there!
Really pleased with how it looks even more so considering what it looked like a few weeks ago and even worse when the ceiling fell in!
Caught up on lots of jobs at hone this weekend, old dressing table went off to it's new home, new desk ordered still waiting for it to be delivered. Found a bed to save up for and some bedroom furniture to make it look like a welcoming room. Looks like that will be when I get my room done next year if I have enough spare pennies.
That's 2 rooms completed this year, dragged back into the 21st century! Really pleased as that was my goal for this year and I've done it!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Moved more furniture into the spare room which goes perfectly with the colour scheme. I love how it looks, it's my favourite room now rather than the one I prefered to forget about in its previous state. Had a think about some accessories to get and finish off the look which include a mirror if I can find a good second hand one and get an old floor rug cleaned to see if that can be used in there too. May as well get some more use out of it after all these years of no use and looking worse for wear!
Have some ideas about my room renovation next year and colour scheme along with some furniture to do up and see on before then.

Great news on finishing the spare room, I bet it looks and feels lovely. Well done on persevering with the complaints I hope the lastest one pays out quickly for you.

Thanks, I hope they do too.
Still sorting the spare room out, emptied drawers out, relined them with the left over wallpaper and tidied them out. Then did the same with the blanket box carefully refilled with blankets and towels rather than old rubbish.
Being careful with what goes back in there to make sure it looks clean and tidy and fresh.
Grrrr the desk still has not arrived, called in after work to see end what a surprise it still wasn't there. Arranged a 20% refund as a result of the rather farcical mix up. That's something I suppose.
Date arranged for window fitting in 3 weeks time which is good news along with confirmation I can graduate too next month. A little apprehensive about this although looking forward to it.

Well that weekend went quickly as usual.
A nice coffee out on Sat, out for a lovely meal Sat night, lazy morning then a trip to a new bike shop to attempt to find a bike I can find to fit my price range. Now that's the difficult bit!
Dog has had his winter trim and I've made the Christmas cake this afternoon. A new version this time, very easy to make as usual. Back to work tomorrow hoping the weekend hurries up as quickly as it disappears!
