With a renewed sense of vigour I have spent the last hour and a half clearing out the spare room of doom.

Old wardrobe shell taken down, old piece of carpet taken up, furniture moved into my room and coat hangaway taken down.

More wallpaper taken down, easily this time. More clearing to do of books, shoes, rubbish and stuff.

Then time to book in the electrical work to be done before the work starts.

Back to the clearing and sorting out for another hour or so then that's it for today.

Looking forward to the new washing machine being delivered on Monday as I have a stack of clothes to wash. Along with cleaning clothes and mops that I haven't bothered with this weekend as what's the point when I can't wash them? They'll have to wait until next week. Which will be a super busy week to work, clean, pack then go away on a short break!

  • Almost done for today, all tidied up from yesterday's ceiling collapse.

Just have a few things left to put away then it's into fabbing myself back up again. I certainly need to!

Hair dye, face mask, de fuzz and emerge fabbed up!

  • What a quick weekend that was! A great day today relaxing in this lovely warm weather. Put in a t-shirt this afternoon, for how long will this last? A few more days I think!

New washer should be delivered and fitted tomorrow all being well and then I can tackle the piles of washing all over the place.

Thought over the Christmas savings plan for next year. Decided to save £5 per month into a separate savings account for sales next Christmas maybe? Also to buy £2 per week on savings stamps split over 4 savings cards to use some for Christmas food and the rest for after Christmas and for treats if needed or stocking up or household goods. That seems a good way to save little amounts to add up into separate pots for the end of next year.

NSD 25 today, no clothes spend day 28. On track for a no clothes spend month.

  • Felt quite run down today but managed a rest to work at home this afternoon and ticked off all the jobs I had to do.

Then ticked off m own jobs after work including catching up on the washing pile. Then bathed the dog ready for his short break at mums. Bathroom cleaned up and the floors swept and mopped at last. After leaving them for 2 weeks while the washer was out of action was doing my head in so they had to be done. Another job ticked off before my short break. Just leaves a quick run round with the hoover, ironing to do before I go back to work next week then pack to tomorrow after work and dog has gone in his short break.

Funds are super tight this month leaving hardly a penny left after payday sadly. One day this won't be the case. Can't be too sad though as I've paid my bills, savings pots up to date, no pennies left for disposable income after a meal out at the weekend. Once that loans paid off things should be different, depending what the next plan is!

NSD to end the month on NSD 27/30. Good going there and another full month of no spending on clothes 30/30

I'm back after my short break birthday treat away which was great. Total relaxation and get away from it all and modern busy life.

Back now and all ready for the week ahead.

Holiday budget went well and tomorrow will pay the remaining half back into the bank along with some birthday money to save up for the next piece of walking clothing to replace.

Upto NSD 5 as all spends came out of specified holiday account. No clothes spend day 5.

Cold damp and miserable here today once the rain finally cleared this afternoon.

Once the work meeting was over I nipped to the bank to pay in the remaining holiday money back into my account and birthday money into the other account. Then posted the 2 eBay sales of textbooks, went for the annual flu jab, all done and collected prescription so all errands completed in an hour.

I'll back later to total up the September spends. Food went way over, travel under and I'll add up the rest to see how much was spent on meals out, coffee and pub.

Feeling quite clumsy and bleurgh again tonight. Looking forward to the weekend already!

Managed another job to tick off the list by arranging a quote for decorating. Still not heard back from the electrician so will find another one after 3 weeks of no reply. Then at the weekend crack on with tidying and dancing and all is ready to go.

Some good news today - decorating quote came in at the price I expected and can be done in a day for the whole job - great news!

Rang another electrician today who is coming next week to quote for that work - hope its the same as the last one and can get it done before the work starts.

By mid November I'll have brand new room looking all fresh and clean and loved after all those years of neglect with a brand new carpet which I'll have a look for at the weekend and start the ball rolling there along with some wallpaper ideas. Its all coming together at last and once this room is done my aim for this year of getting 2 rooms done is achieved! Can't wait!

Back to rubbish job tomorrow afternoon and evening and Fri morning, found one today I was interested in applying for but don't think I'm qualified enough for it. I might still give it a go though as I really want to leave the old one behind and move on.

    Soon hopefully!

NSD 8 and no clothes spend day 8 too, all going well, no surprise when no spare pennies to spend!
