A low spendy day today.
Coffee and food shop.
Housework finished for this week apart from some ironing at some point in the week ahead.
Made millionaires shortbread to use up an old can of condensed milk as treats for tomorrow's walk in the country side. If they can be prised out of the tin that is!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Wowee, those shortbreads were filling and sweet! Think I'll donate the remainder to work!
Great day out in the countryside, lovely walk, lot shorter than of late but a good way to test out my phew boots that performed brilliantly!
Lovely coffee stop this afternoon too. Why does the day go by so quickly under the autumnal sun? It flew by today.
My next savings plan is almost at the point where I can buy my next piece of walking clothing. I've finally found a suitable wind proof jacket instead of a soft shell that will be just perfect. Can't wait! A good price too which is always better than the ones that cost 2 or 3 times as much.

Yeah, sold an old text book today and money straight into savings bank account when it arrives.
Just need to give myself a kick and list the rest on eBay. Especially now I have a start date for the next room renovation and there's an awful lot to clear out of there.
Jobs to do
Clear whole room
Contact electrician for date to do work
Contact decorator for a quote for work
Measure up for wallpaper and buy
Measure up for carpet, order and buy
Can't wait for this room to be transformed as if looks very neglected for at least a generation. Probably longer.
Time to get on with it!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Well I did it, listed remaining old textbooks onto eBay after discovering it was free listing extended weekend, then listed 2 more pieces of clothing and parceled up one sale from today which has been on there for ages. There's always someone out there for those listings!
Went for a run which went overall better than last week and a minute quicker too.
Feeling very chesty and rubbish tonight

Boy am I skint. A few more days to go until payday arrives thankfully.
Feeling decidedly under the weather today, more antibiotics prescribed to treat a swollen and infected insect bite that's still here after 2.5 weeks and looking very angry and spreading.
Think it'll be an early night for me

Forgot to mention, I paid off another £5 off the long term loan today from an eBay sale. Every penny counts for the overpayment.
Hoping the bank charges case for reclaiming does well and I'll be resubmitting my case as the ombudsman only did not uphold it due to the Supreme Court ruling from 2009. I'll be listening out for what happens there.
Good job I kept all the paperwork from the knock back from banks that refused to repay PPI when they should have. And, I kept the bank charges reclaim paperwork, just in case things changed in the future and let's see what happens.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Feeling decidedly bleurgh today. Antibiotics started to heal up the large patch of either infection or something eczema like. Hope it's not as it's been 5 years since I last had that outbreak nastily. It's been well under control for a long time. I feel quite run down for some strange reason I can't fathom out.
Anyway, hump day over with and onwards towards the downward slope towards the weekend.
What else to report? Oh yes, my shortbreads went down a treat at work and all were scoffed!

Grr washer not fixable so new one coming Monday. Can pay for 2/3 of it with money saved and will have to borrow the rest out of the holiday account then repay that amount over several months until it is repaid in full. Not ideal but not much I can do about it. At least they reduced the price fairly once discovered how much a national company are selling it for and are fitting it at a time suitable for me meaning I don't have to take any more time off work. Plus it will be delivered quicker and fitted quicker than elsewhere. Heyho, not ideal but not bad and certainly could be worse.
Onto other matters, bonkers busy at work this afternoon and evening meaning no time for tea. Bowl of cereal and a wagon wheel and a hot choccie tonight! Curry night tomorrow to make up!
Hair cut tomorrow afternoon and house tidy up. Poss work Sat and town and shopping.
Antibiotics not doing much, hope they kick in soon. Leg feels decidly strange. Hope that's my imagination!

Another nightmare today. Finished work after a busy morning, called in at supermarket to zoom around before going home for my haircut. Back home, heard this noise of something falling, looked outside, nothing moved, thought it was the traffic. Went upstairs to discover the spare room ceiling had fallen in where it had bowed for all those years. Talk about messy.
Think I would have been more freaked out if the room wasn't going to be renovated in about 4 weeks time. Thank goodness I've arranged for it to be done and a start date otherwise I think I'd have been at my wits end.
Anything else want to go wrong this week? Oh yes it already has. A large insurance underwriter has decided my postcode now comes under a high risk flood area making it extremely difficult to get an insurance quote under £700. Ridiculous. Good job my renewal quote was much less, and I originally thought it was too high, what did I know? Good job I didn't cancel it first thinking I could get something lower turns out I can't get anything close.
Here's hoping that's it.
Tomorrow the massive clean up continues and packing the room up. What a day.
NSD 24 today, only food shop done no spend day 26 today.
Dutifully took meter readings and paid the amount it came to. So far all ok with the amount, no massive increases yet. I'll try and keep the heating off as long as possible to keep the amount down as low as I can.
Also set up my new saving plan for new Christmas decorations for next year. Discovered this on the NSD thread. Save £5 per month from now until next Dec and can afford to replace all the decorations that were ruined in the cellar a couple of years ago. Love that! Thinking of what I can save in small amounts for. Hmm, how about the Christmas shop? That should work. Might give that a try in the new year for an easy stress free savings plan.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Omg what a week you've had! I'm so sorry to hear about the ceiling that's not what you need! Suppose the saving grace is that it is in the room you're doing up! I hope you are feeling better soon I've also been feeling very down healthwise with no real reason for it! It's very draining! Here's hoping next week is a better one for you xxxMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34.
