Woo hoo! Its the weekend at last!
Today I went to work, came home, sorted the house insurance out, cleaned half the house and took the dog for his walk. Attempted to dry the washing outside only to get wet through in a heavy downpour of course!
Tomorrow I'll finish the cleaning off, make some soup and some bread, nip to find some wallpaper, do the shopping and sand the woodwork down.
Then find something suitable for tea!
Might even feel like some exercise at last once more if I have a nice rest from work.
NSD 10 - easy peasy when no money to spend. Also turned down one work Christmas do as it was expensive for a menu I didn't like the sound of. Felt a bit bad but what's the point spending £35 on a night out when I don't fancy any of the menu?
Also no spends on clothes so far this month.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
I'm back after a week with no broadband and then a busy week.
Upto NSD 17 today and bought a summer shirt for £5 yesterday which I couldn't resist in the sale to keep for holidays next year.
Spare room renovation all on track with electrics to be done next week and work to start week after. All paint bought on offer and 2 rolls of wallpaper that didn't break the bank at all. Carpet priced up and just the shade to choose. Can't wait until it's done and see what it'll look like!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Boiler assessed for its repair due next week. Hopefully it will be sorted out next week and back to normal thank goodness I have the cover in place for it.
Soup made for lunch today while working from home on lunch break. Got most things done this morning and a couple of things left to do this afternoon.
Training for the next 2 days then off on a short break this weekend - that last one this year! Good job holiday is booked for springtime next year and can't wait for that as it looks a good place to go and explore.
Pleased I have a flexible job for most of the week and it was old job Mon/Tues this week to account for the training days leaving me feeling quite out of sorts as usual.
NSD 19 today as not been anywhere!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
I'm back after a great few days away celebrating a birthday. It was a great break, a great place to stay too, time flew by quickly though! The best party on top of a deserted mountain in mist, rain and strong wind!
Boiler repair now waiting till next week. Electrical work all done today. Nearly ready to go now. Tomorrow will be moving the last of the furniture then the final bit of wallpaper to remove at the weekend along with the final bit of the sanding then the work can begin!
Car booked in for its service and mot next month which is another job ticked off the list.
Managed to do another go of shred tonight, next time is Friday as tomorrow busy, Thursday working late and Friday dentist appt after work. Then Sat a mooch around the shops with mum and a coffee!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
I finally did it!
After 4 phonecalls to the bank to change my account back to a non fee paying account it has finally taken place. No more fees to be paid for my current account and no more insurance benefits that I never needed in the first place.
That's another job ticked off my list. Also today paid a big chunk off the long term loan. A long way to go still, however much progress made this year as I've overpaid around £5000 with reduced interest also to take into account there.
Although I feel wistful at paying my savings to the loan to pay it off it's the reason I saved this year to do this and it had to be done. Looking forward to the day I can save without repaying a loan! It will come along I know it will.
Really pleased I've finally sorted out the bank account to a non fee paying current account. I should never have taken that out in the first place, all sorted now despite the bank being very resistant at times to the change. That's £12.95 a month saved and a total of £155.40 per year. Along with the other money no longer paid out of DD for house insurance that's £36.81 a month better off. Now that will make a difference after all the hard work staying in credit, repaying debt and stopping paying out for things I don't need. Getting there at last!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
A busy weekend here
Went to see mum yesterday and had a nice walk around the shops and a coffee in the lovely bright light that was yesterday. Then today what did I do? Made the gravy for Christmas which is now in the freezer as part of the get ahead with no stress preparations!
Bathroom cleaned along with the floors swept and mopped, tidied up, finished off the spare room preps ready for work to start tomorrow. Washing and ironing done, dog walked, went for a run and made a big pan of chickpea curry and finally used up the last of the dried chick peas I've had for so long I can't remember how long I've had them for!
Also totted up the monthly totals which I'll post at some point. Overall not too bad for a 2 birthday month and 2 weekend aways and 2 meals out also.
Upto NSD 2 today and no money spent on clothes either which U.S. always good.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Banking checks all done and all on track, phew!
Monthly totals
Grocery challenge - £111.73 - £11.73 over
Travel costs £134.79 - £14.79 over
Clothes - £5 broke the no spend months in a row
NSD - 27 NSD for October, pleased!
Coffee budget - £11.57 which equals 5 bought over the month
Meals out - £25.28 for 2 meals out and drinks
Pub drinks - £3.65
Total - £40.50
Not bad.
Plus 2 weekends away with separate budget spends.m
Overall pleased with this, travels spends over not surprisingly as lots of running around this month, food not too bad, just over. Social spend equate about £10 per week which is my ideal spend amount when I can afford that amount.
Account checks done today indicate I should be in credit by quite a lot compared to recently if there are no unplanned spends that occur.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Check me out! I have a bathroom door that fits perfectly at long last, the first time since I moved in! Small things and all that but still, made me smile!
Work has started on the spare room and I no longer have a hole in the ceiling and the fireplace has a correct vent hole and the original hole is bricked up correctly - yeah!
Happy and looks like it will be finished in a couple of days, then the decorating will get done next week - happy!
NSD 3, nearly forgot.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
NSD 4 today. Only spends were eBay postage and train fare.
Busy tonight sanding the walls down and happily the room has its new ceiling all in place drying out ready to be painted next week. Can't wait to see what it looks like when it's finished.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Nsd 5 today. No clothes spend day 5.
Plaster work finished in the spare room, all drying out now. Tidied up and swept up dust and wiped a few things down. Still a lot to do, filling of holes, sanding walls and getting the final scraps of paper and paint off the walls. Then it's ready for decorating. Window quote on Friday to see how much that will be and what style. Hope it comes to a price similar to one I have in mind.
Long work day tomorrow then almost there for this week!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550
