  • How did the bike shopping go, I'm ashamed to say that mine has been outside covered in tarpaulin for months and I really like cycling. I will make it my mission to clean up at the weekend and use it!

A good run of no spend days for you, well done.

Weekends go so fast, my ds says we should work two days and have five off - that would be nice.

  • Do you have a bike2workscheme available at your job, if so it could help you get a decent bike at a better price.

  • I don't think they will allow a FS MTB on the scheme for me. I'm saving up for one and gave my eye on 2 I'm after.

Felt my cold move worsen so have taken a couple of days off to see if I feel better as a result. Have had this for about 2 weeks and it's finally worsened.

Not much done today as a result but I suppose I needed a restful day. Will see if I feel better tomorrow, hope so.

Oh dear, a small gas leak has resulted in the gas supply being turned off. Not good. Earliest reapply date is Friday morning and I hope they don't just assess it instead of repairing and re supplying. Just when things were getting sorted out. Still feel dreadful so taking the rest of the week off and that was before this all happened.

Before all this happened I was having a decent day, managed to find a really good mirror on a second hand site for a tenner then a suitable book case for not much more taking advantage of 25% off and using the gift card I received. All for the spare room to continue to furnish it for not many pennies.

As the bookcase money came from eBay sales today making it money neutral and a NSD making it NSD 23 and no clothes spend day 26.

  • Gas back on and declared safe to use thank goodness. I really don't like being without hot water and gas to cook. Anyway at least it's back to normal now.

    Phew hot water once again.

Hoping to feel better tomorrow after a very swollen throat all afternoon and evening so it's the rest of the week off for me to recover and feel back to normal I hope.

  • Finally ticked off another job while I'm off work getting over this cold virus thing. Listed some books on we buy books and have a valuation of £20 for books I don't want. Pretty pleased with this as its a job I've put off for ages and it brings in some funds for the long term loan repayment plan.

Have another pile to go through depending on how this transaction goes, I'll wait and see before seeing if this lot will be accepted.

Still feeling pretty rubbish with a very swollen sort throat. Definitely off for the rest of the week and I hoping it clears up soon.

After listing the books for sale they need packing up and I put the rest up in their new home, a bookcase at last. Has a lot of storage even though it's flimsy and not great quality if will do for now and the books will cover up the defects. I'm pleased I have some proper storage at long last for the first time here!

Spare room almost finished now, once the curtains go up and the boiler is looked at the cupboard can be filled up with the rest of things and the house is looking better now I have this fully functioning room which looks delightful.

Can't wait until I've saved up enough to get my room renovated. Better keep an eye out for paint and curtain offers over Christmas and new year sales.

Today is NSD 24 and no clothes spend day 27.

Banking checks all done and all on track. I have now stayed in credit for 12 months with no dipping into the overdraft. A record for me after spending 20 years using and exceeding my overdraft facility.

Used the household appliances account to pay for the gas result yesterday rather thank break into my contingency account. Not ideal and hoping nothing goes wrong over the next 12 months while I build up this account again. Fingers crossed it doesn't.

What else, worked out my outgoings from payday tomorrow, all on track there too. Just enough left in the present account to cover the rest of Christmas presents and some for mums birthday next year. Only one or two presents left to get and some sellotape and all is done!

  • Final present bought today as it had 30% off and I was planning on buying it next week anyway. Will collect next week.

    Overpayment to the loan made
    Budgets all done for December
Gas and electric meter readings taken, inputted and monthly bill paid

Waiting for boiler assessment this morning, feeling a tad better today at last. Will continue the spare room sort out later and maybe do a little more housework.

Feeling much better today and the virus feels like it has gone at last.

Boiler assessment was safety tested and all is ok there too which is a relief. May just be a fan that needs replacing in the future if it has another funny turn.

Spare room sort out is going well and almost all in place now and my room is cleared too ready for its renovation next year apart from one draw where I have shoved a load of stuff I'm not sure what to do with. Will decide when I sell this piece of furniture next year!

NSD 25 today - present came out of budget account and half the weekly shop done this afternoon out of food account budget.
