I've got an 11 year old Zanussi which has recently needed a belt. Nothing before that.
    Its the appliance of science:)
  • my current bosch is probably around 12 years old tempting fate now but hasnt missed a beat in all those years it replaced a useless hoover washing machine that lasted 2 years and had about 6 call outs

I had an Electrolux for about 10 years and a Meile for 24 years. Even then the Meile didn't wear out. I gave it to a friend and got a new Meile washer/dryer when I built a new kitchen.

Hotpoint here, 10 years old and going strong. Probably used to wash an average of 7 times a month, and to spin after hand washing another 6 times a month
  • Our hotpoint is now 7 years old and gets used 3-4 times a week

In danger of repeating others, but with a twist. 12 year old Bosch, taken me from bachelor to 4 year old DS in the house, including doing the real nappy thing. Probably 10 loads a week now. Bearings failed last month. £35 quid and 8 hours work, on YouTube it only takes 17 minutes, and she is running like new again.

It was the bottom of the range Bosch, probably just under £300.
  • I had a Bosch that lasted 8 years, currentlyhave a Miele perfect afterc9 years use and hope it will go on for many more years .

AEG appliances haven't been German designed and manufactured for over 15 years. Sorry.

    Cheers

Some still are...Ovens for example...but when it comes to washing machines, you are correct!
