I just use a normal mug to measure & it's worked every time so far.
Good to know, many thanks. I may well use this.Life is mainly froth and bubble

1 cup plain flour
1 cup water (add food colouring to the water if required)
1/2 cup salt
1 tbsp cooking oil
2 tsp cream of tartar
Mix the ingredients together in a large saucepan, stir over a low heat until it turns in to playdough.
I know it's measured in cups, but it works. I just use a normal mug to measure & it's worked every time so far.

This is pretty much the same as the recipe my Mum gave me years ago and she always measured in mugs as well
1 mug salt
2 mugs SR flour
2 mugs cold water
3 tsp cream of tartar
2 tbsp vegetable oil
food colouring
almond essence
Mix all together in a large non-stick pan with a wooden spoon. Make sure to scrape all dry ingredients out of the ‘corners’ of the pan or it will burn. The mixture will resemble a batter. Now cook over a low flame stirring continuously. Soon the mixture will begin to form a stiff dough. Allow to cool and knead a bit. Remember to keep the dough in an airtight plastic box.0 -
