Bless him. Sounds like a good conversation, and exactly how we have serious conversations. We've discussed IVF plans over table tennis - its somehow easier when you have something else to focus on.

And what do you mean we will GET super skinny. Kate Moss already looks at my svelte figure with envy*. ;)

    * this may or may not be true

True. Just this morning I slipped through a crack in the floor.

Code - on a serious note - did you talk about options for him? Is he ready to enter the world of intrusive tests that we live in? And any talk of using donor sperm?

We've talked about the ISCI and the big needle or surgical option and about the costs of private treatment but it's a big leap when we've not even seen a specialist. He doesn't want to use donor sperm so we're taking that off the table. If it turns out that the whole making babies in the lab thing doesn't work, then that's it for us.

RG that's great news, everything crossed for you :D It only takes the one, I reckon this is a lucky embie.

Well to add to the never ending drama of the last six weeks or so... we finally got a letter from the fertility people, with an appointment date of 29 November. So that was good. This evening I had reflexology which I am convinced is helping my cycle sort itself out. Came home feeling really positive.

DH was waiting at home to tell me that his grandma died this afternoon, he had only just found out himself. She had been ill for a long time but in the end it was very sudden and unexpected, but painless for her. A huge shock for us though and as she has been my much-loved grandma for the last nine years, and the only grandparent I have ever had, it's hard to take in really. I always thought she'd be around to see her great grandchild, whenever it finally decided to make an appearance, but now if we have a baby it will never get to meet her and even though it's very stupid, that thought is really upsetting me.

Still though I am just so happy for her that she didn't have to go through anything painful at the end, and she spent her last night in her own home and never had to go into care which was all she wanted.

I honestly cannot wait for this year to be over.

    Hi ladies, lots going on.

Congratulations RG, I really, really, really hope it's a sticky one.

Sorry about your nan angel. I thought the same when OH's mum died; it's hard when you lose someone.

Thanks for everyone's information about their IVF drugs and when they take them. What a variety! I think I'll wait and see what drugs they give me first and then go back and read what you chose to do. I've imagined going to a bar and the bouncers stopping me and finding the syringe or having to ask the bar manager if I can use their office to discreetly the drugs.

T2D, can you please add me to the summary list: Starting IVF in late Nov/early Dec. I'll write an update for the front page another time.

Although I've been setting myself up nicely for a massive disappointment this weekend. I've convinced myself I have a chemical pregnancy. I have a few symptoms which I've had before and then AF visited so I'm trying to not get my hopes up, thus why I'm calling it a chemical pregnancy. The symptoms are slight headaches, nausea, slightly more hungry, tired and AF pain.

  • Phew, amazing news Rowingirl, come on little embie!!!

Angel - so sorry to hear about your grandma. Aaaw not stupid at all to have those thoughts, it's so tough to lose someone you love no matter how ill they have been.

Thanks for updating the lists t2d.

First world problems rant alert coming up.... feel free to ignore! :o:o

    a) my skin is awful :( it's never been great but had been much better over the last 2 years. Am now back to feeling dirty and ashamed to leave the house.
    b) still no +ve opk. Have had loads of symptoms of ov all week but nothing on the tests
    c) still no BD!! Which leads me nicely onto....
    d) OH is an a.rse. Somehow in the night the cat had got a blob of poo on the duvet cover (lovely!!) I was up first, OH was awake and we spoke about it. He got up and just left it there! Made his half-hearted attempt to make the bed (just pulls one corner of the duvet, really annoys me) then when and had his breakfast. I stripped the bed and asked if it had occurred to him to move it and he moaned to leave him alone as he'd just got up :mad:. Idiot.

Ah Tea, what a rubbish way to start the day. I will swear that men have different eyes to us because my OH doesn't seem to see the same things I do (or smell them!).

It always falls to me to clean up cat sick/poo (thankfully few and far between), but I do make him do the litter tray since we started TTC'ing!

I hope your day gets better...
