The more ignorant the person, the more they like to spew forth with their ill-informed opinions. No good ever comes from reading the comments section of a vile rag like the DM. If there's one thing worse than the Daily Mail, it's its readership.

None of you is wrong for wanting your own babe. Don't let the ignorami of the world make you doubt your goal. I can GUARANTEE that not one of them has ever suffered fertility problems. Ignore. Ignore. Ignore.

Hi all been dipping in and out for the thread for last few years. Been TTC for 3 years.. I have pcos and overweight (I am trying to lose weight)

Due to pcos I very rarely have periods which is SO frustrating, and when I do they are annovulatory

Anyhow cut a long story short I've been researching soy ISO for many months and when AF finally turned up on 27th sept first time in 4 months I was ecstatic. So I took the soy for 5. Days and been opk ever since and finally tonigh I have a smiley face :j:T

I'm so shocked and happy I actually don't know what to do with myself. I've text DH who has gone to play snooker and told him to get home sharp :rotfl:

I think this is the first time I've ovulated in 18 months!
Goal - We want to be mortgages free :j

Yay for your ov!! I think some of the other pcos ladies have had some luck with D-chiro inositol and it's cousin inositol as the d chiro stuff is hard to get a hold of.

    Yay to ov Mrs Rogers.
So silly we spend half of our life trying to stop getting pregnant, and then its hard when we do try. It makes me wonder how the human race survives,

Just made a coffee cake to try and dampen that homely, womanly, maternal feeling. it hasn't worked, just making me feel guilty that I'm about to eat cake after all the hard work and exercise this week.

Got to admit sometimes I'm scared of becoming a mother. It's the little things, like seeing a certain high street store advert with them advertising a girls xmas present at half price at £50!!!! Sure I can't remember having big presents like that. Mind you I was always happy with a pack of pencils and drawing paper and naturally the card board box. Is £50 really the price these days of a present???? That's a lot of money for 1 single present, especially as that's the sale price.
Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.

That's nothing. A family member of mine has 3 kids. The oldest two are 15 and 13 and for the past 5 years every Christmas and birthday they've had new top of the range phones, new laptops, ipads, ipods, pedigree puppies and designer clothes . When her third was born and turned out to be a boy, the girls got moved into one room and to compensate them, they got their room redecorated, new furniture, a large tv and new games consoles. I honestly don't know how they afford it because they both have minimum wage jobs.

Me and DH are a bit confused by the need for quite so much all the time. It's resulted in them not treating their stuff with no respect because they know they'll get a new one if they "lose" or break them.

Also the way they behave worries me about motherhood. They're actually lovely girls but they're on Facebook at 2am on schoolnights, the oldest is being brought home drunk by the police and has been caught shoplifting and the youngest is allowed to bleach her hair, have those ear stretcher things and is probably drinking too. They're allowed mixed sleepovers. Me and DH have a bet that one or both will get pregnant before I do.

We've talked it through and we're on the same page about it all so we'll probably be derided as being old fashioned parents - but we believe in bedtimes.

Having said that, I have a lot of friends who are doing the attachment parenting thing and that scares the life out of me too. Some of them are scary about it - and genuinely believe that having your baby sleep in a cot and not be carried around 24/7 means he or she will be scarred for life. I'm hoping we can find a balance between the two. That is, if it ever happens.

  • Thanks for all the welcome backs. You guys are the *only* thing that's good about being a barren shrew.

Thanks for the eeva confirmation Peonie- exciting that it's moving quickly for you.

I have a week off coming up and get to see my counsellor- I haven't seen her for three weeks and I didn't realise how much she keeps me on an even keel.

As for the whole IVF/ NHS thing, I told my grandparents the edited version of what we were going through. They both told me that they thought I should just admit that children aren't meant for us, the NHS wasn't for that and that I should just enjoy myself. It hurt. A lot.

I want to adopt but I think that my family history will exclude me. It's not something OH wants to discuss yet but with IVF getting ever further away I'm beginning to think it might be our only option...

    Hugs for pre-af tea.
