    Hey everyone

I am really struggling to sleep at night. I usually sleep on my front but I can't now, my back feels bad and my side feels odd. Been trying to play about with pillows but it wasn't right, any suggestions?

14+1 and finally the sickness has gone well touch wood. I still feel it a bit if I haven't eaten but its eased. Would the placenta be feeding the baby now or still the yolk sac?

My vomiting has only gone at 21 weeks and I still feel fairly nauseous for a good part of the day, hope yours goes quicker than mine!

I hope it does go soon, but I'm not holding my breath - with my first, it lasted until 40 + 4, the day Isaac was born

It's not quite as bad this time as it was with him - touch wood. I've not needed to go on a drip, yet.

Oh Gawd now I feel depressed, I'm 13 weeks + 1 day today and was hoping this constant sickness would start to subside any day now....:( I am really suffering. Since my anti-sickness pills ran out early last week I'm back to vomiting pretty much constantly all day and night, including whilst driving to and from work :( The worst thing is I was granted a temporary parking space at work a few months ago due to health problems and it's due to run out in just over a weeks time. I don't know how I will cope with vomiting on the bus every day :(

chelseablue - was wondering when you'd join me :D Welcome!

squ1rrel5 - hope you manage to get it checked out and it's nothing too serious :(

Re: holiday allowances I've not checked mine out properly yet, I know our leave year runs from Start March - End April and we can usually only carry over 8 days, apart from in exceptional circumstances. As I will be due to go off mid May, I might see if I can be cheeky and ask to carry over more than 8 days (if I've got that many left!) to March 2014, so I can go off a bit earlier but not eat into my maternity!

However I don't know what then happens with my new allowance I will receive in March 2014 - I will be coming back after that leave year ends so I need to find out if, like others, I have to take it or if I can carry some over and possibly take at the end of my maternity (thus giving me more time with baby)

    It's a bit of a minefield!

Squirrel I've had gallstones and I'd say that if the pain is going on longer than a couple of hours, it's not gallstones, an 'attack' for me was at most half a day. not pleasant at all but went again. If it is there is a medicine that they can give instead of the surgery which lasts for a few months but it may not be safe in pregancy

Has the pain been since your fall? it's more likely to be a muscle in spasm - they can take a couple of days to settle back down at the best of times and considering all the muscle relaxing hormones you've got going on and the lack of ability to take anti-inflammatories I'd put my money on a bad spasm.
You'd be suprised how easily you can hurt your back - I did mine in for a good few days because I was reading on my front for a few hours one afternoon!
The advice I got was to 'potter' - not exercise but not rest either, just keep getting up and doing little bits so it doesn't stiffen

Thanks TL, from what you've said it does sound like it could be gallstones. The pain sometimes subsides (although I'd say there is always an ache) however when it does strike it's like nothing I've ever had before. In tears mostly. Seeing doc soon, hope they can give me more of an idea what it is and at least sign me off work for a few days. Can't really afford to be off sick right now but don't think I could bear the excruciating pain in the office!!

If it's any help I've been told by several sources that gallstone pain is meant to be worse than childbirth, so if you can survive this with little/no pain relief, you'll be well set up for the big event :D

mysecretalias you'll never guess what...............we are scan buddies again! Mine is also on 13th January

I promise Im not stalking you :rotfl::rotfl:

On the subject of my scan, there usually between 18 and 20 weeks but I'll actually be over 21 weeks when I have mine

Is that still ok for them to check everything they need to?

Chelsea I had the repeat scan at 23 weeks, it's actually easier to see what they need to when baby's are bigger.

I think the timeframe is more for if things aren't right, you have more time to make a decision

Yeah, I was 20wks and 4 days and they did say at the beginning if they couldn't get everything that day they would see me 1 week later so don't worry.

I also had my 16 week MW appointment at 18 weeks which was fine, think it's mainly guidelines the day.

Hope you enjoy your scan, I did, it was a bit uncomfortable when baby decided not to play ball so she couldn't get the back check done but I'd to lie on my side for 5-10 mins then she started tapping my belly with the handheld thingy lol, baby then moved into a better position to allow her to get it done. Misbehaving already she said !:rotfl:

My second scan was done at 21 weeks, and they couldn't get all the head measurements (head too far down in pelvis), so I'm back in tomorrow (23 weeks) for a rescan.
