Hi ladies hope everyone is well and having a nice weekend. I had my 22wk midwife appt yesterday (at 23 weeks). Everything was routine but because I didn't get to hear the heartbeat at my 16 wk appt (because they booked me on on week 14 by mistake! They're very timely my midwives!) I assumed I'd hear it at this one. I'd got to the end of the appt and nothing had happened so I just said 'can we hear baby's heartbeat?' I got the reply 'well seeing as you've asked but we don't normally do it' I think I must be at the only midwife in the country who doesn't do it!! Glad I asked!!! Might mean I have to invest in a Doppler after all, although hubby frowned upon it when I told him!!!
The heartbeat was lovely and strong though so was really good to hear!!0 -

Slightly edited because my rescan date was wrong. Also I realised I was still listed as my estimated due date from my LMP rather than my scan dates.Mortgage when started: £330,995

Owwww so much pain today. Got up to go to loo in middle of night and missed a step that I forgot was there. Really jarred my back and now I'm struggling to move. Can't lie down, sit down or stand up without being in agony. In normal circumstances is be getting the hot water bottle out and dosing up on paracetamol but now I'm just suffering. Hopefully will ease up soon! :-(0

Hello all - I'm 14 weeks' pregnant, and due in mid-May.
I'm 35, live in London with OH and our 8 year old son, so this is number #2.
I'm still suffering very badly from sickness, as in not eating much, vomiting several times a day, feeling sick all the time, and also feeling knackered and washed out. Hope it goes soon!
I've lost 4kg since July (which was when I last knew what I weighed) so although my work trousers still fit, they are tighter round the front and baggy around the ar5e, such a lovely look.......much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Happy Sunday everyone,
Been and brought some maternity trousers and joggers today. Put them on and it was instant love. The relief my tummy felt was immense. Plus they are much more flattering. I just got so fed up of feeling fat, frumpy and uncomfortable that I just had to bite the bullet and get one with it.
Also I have been looking on eBay at second hand baby things and have found a swinging chair that bidding ends on in 4 days and is currently up for only 99p. Its has also barely been used so is basically brand new. I'm thrilled because I have had a look on amazon and it retails for a massive £50 brand new. Told husband about it and his reaction was basically 'hmmmm, too early'. Part of me agrees with him but then theres another part of me thats irritated because I know full well that the reason he isn't excited about it is that it isn't brand new from a shop. There is going to be so much stuff we need to buy over the next 6 months that I part of me just wants to be organised, get it at the best price and spread the cost.
My question is what are your intentions in terms of buying baby stuff. When do you intend/did you start looking? Are you buying all second hand? Are there certain things you will only buy brand new?0 -
Vicky (sorry jumping in from big thread!) we've been buying things as we've seen offers since about 16 weeks. I've got some fab buys off eBay & Facebook selling groups and saved so much money! Defo worth it!
Oh and the things I wanted to buy brand new are pram, car seat, car seat base & furniture but that's just meFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140
