And a VERY surprise miracle in March 2017!0 -
After all the concerns and problems, my scan went well and baby seems healthy
I'm team Pink0 -
Just back from a lovely evening having dinner and catching up with a friend.
Been feeling an 'odd' thing in my tummy, maybe it's baby but I don't know, could be wind or indigestion LOL... it's more to my left side and feels like a twinge/tightening but it isn't painful..0 -
Hope everyone is well
I had my 16 week appointment yesterday... First with the new midwife, not too sure about her yet but the role is currently being reviewed so may not be permanent. Had to ask for her to try Doppler and she was really reluctant - made out it was too soon but I think she couldn't be bothered! She found heart beat instantly when she did try.
Welcome to new faces, I'm mostly a lurker as its hard to post on my phone, I was so amazed by 12 week scan... Torn between excitement and nerves for the next one!Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Eiteews they point blank don't do it in my area at 16 weeks and even yesterday at 25 weeks I was warned it was still very early for finding it and not to worry if she couldn't, so maybe she's from an area where they don't do it that early
Con best way movements have been described to me is its like when your tired and your eyelid twitches, so sounds like a kick to meLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

TeamLowe - I have a colleague who is same stage but different surgery and they did without asking. I was also told last time I went they would do it at 16 weeks so just inconsistent it seems.
I do have a home cheapo one which has worked since 12 weeks... I was mostly interested to see quality difference as I'm a bit of a gadget geek
25 weeks seems crazy - guess they must have to cover themselves against freaking out hormonal ladies (counting myself in that!) if heartbeat can't be found right away.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Welcome to all the newbies
Can't believe I only have 2 weeks left on this thread, feels like yesterday I joined it!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
Morning everyone and welcome to the girls who've just moved over to this thread :T
I had an apt with the midwife, I'm 15 weeks and she checked for bubs heartbeat and found it quite quickly. I was worried she wouldn't try as I wasn't 16 weeks, I'd be gutted having to wait till 25 weeks.
Phone everyone is well0 -

TBH when i went for the 16 week appointment I'd worked myself up into such a state about what if she couldn't find the heartbeat or find it quickly that when she said 'we don't do that just yet' it was sort of a relief.
She also didn't measure my uterus with a measuring tape, just felt where it was up to and said 'that's about right'. and looking from the other thread there seems to be a lot of needless worry and growth scans when it's a cm or two out.
So I think the general overall philosophy seems to be 'don't worry and stress out pregnant ladies' which I'm on board with as an easily worried lady lol I trust the midwifery team - there's signs all over their clinics saying how highly rated they are and they've delivered pretty much everyone I know lolLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

Teamlowe, you're so right. I'm 21 weeks and haven't been approached with a tape measure yet. :-) Was it you saying about having painful hips? Can I ask if you have PGP/SPD as no one else here seems to have my aches and occasional difficulty walking.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
