Was just lying in bed waking up and felt this like movement right towards the front of my bump and then my tummy went a bit lopsided and hard! The baby must be lying right there! Really bizarre feeling lol!
I'm just scared now like what if I hit my bump, it doesn't feel like there's much between the outside & the baby!
Yay for half term! The kids I look after I sometimes see staring at my bump! The other day one said 'ooh bellys coming on!'
Like your photo Becca! No mistaking it now!0 -
Hi girls,
Sorry I haven't posted a lot lately but been pretty busy, but have been trying to keep up with posts
Welcome newbies!
Loving the bump pic Becca. I'm actually looking forward to the day my bump resembles an actual bump rather then one too many pies lol
We have our 16 wk check next Monday (nearly 17 wks tho) and I was concerned they wouldn't find the heartbeat either. To be honest I have felt weird fluttering and little popping noises so am trying to stay positive.
Could anyone give me any ideas of what they do at the 16wk check (although I understand it varies)
Hope everyone has a great weekend and better weather then here! x0 -
I had mine yesterday Faith (at 17+2!). Seemed to be more paperwork at first, midwife wrote all my blood test results in my notes, told me I needed to have the anti D injection at 28 weeks (did a terrible job of explaining why but luckily my best friend is a doctor so got more sense from her!). Then she asked if I had any concerns, and asked if I thought about how I'd feed the baby (followed up by a little breast feeding lecture when I said I hadn't yet decided!).
Then she checked my urine, did my BP and listened to the heartbeat. She struggled to find it for about a minute and to be honest it was the longest minute ever! She was looking for it quite low down but actually the little scamp seemed to be higher that he was meant to be and moving around lots so once she did find it I breathed a massive sigh of relief (I think she did too!).
To be honest apart from hearing the heartbeat it seemed a bit of a waste of time! But as I haven't felt any movements it's was worth it just for that to reassure me a bit until my scan in a couple of weeks.0 -
At my appt the midwife read out my blood test results - and wrote them in notes but if there was anything bad they would have told you by now.
Like she went 'blood type a positive... HIV..' And then there was this pause whilst she looked at the screen and then said 'negative' and the we Inappropriately sort of laughed and I said god I hope if it wasn't they wouldn't have bloody left it til now to tell me! And she said oh no definitely not! You would have been told by the 12 week scan.
Then she took my blood pressure, checked urine sample.
Then listened to the heart beat and found uterus.
Oh funny story I told DH I hadn't been able to find my uterus but your midwife found it in seconds- he said he spent all day at work wondering when/how I was putting my fingers 'up there' and not finding what I was looking for! Came home and said 'er where exactly is the uterus cos I've been imagining things..' I almost wet myself laughing I said you can feel it through your tummy idiot & secondly you definitely can't touch it by going up there!
I think he was confusing it with the cervix! The nct birth classes will be an eye opener I think :rotfl:0 -
Eeeeeeek!!!
I felt baby properly moving tonight, for the first time!!! I've hardly had any flutters, but this was a definite series of twitches.Soooo excited!!!
In other news, I've been sooooo tired, but still done 49 hours in school this week, without counting any evening working. Urgh! Thank goodness it's half term now!
Hope everyone is well.
Team yellow people, what are you doing about buying clothes? I'm thinking buying as little as possible in neutrals, then buying more when babe arrives, but what ifI haven't got enough? argh!!!
Emma
22+2
Once I've had my 20 week scan i'm gonna start with clothes. I plan on getting the basics in white/cream really, I love a baby in a simple white babygrow so will get lots of them, vests etc. Then when baby is born will send people out to get pink/blue or order stuff online. My sister in law didn't find out and she said she hardly needed to buy any blue as most her presents were lovely little outfits.
I'm doing same with the room, keeping it white/cream then when baby is here will get pink/blue decor/wall stickers, curtains, bedding etc0 -
I'm team yellow and even though we're 22 weeks on Monday we've still not bought anything. I think it's easier when you know the gender. However I expect other people will buys things and that will start us off. There are gorgeous unisex clothes and I'm sure people will want to get us stuff for Christmas. I do think not having found a house is stalling us too, but we're viewing 2 places today I have a good feeling about.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

good luck on the house viewing.
I still haven't bought anything, I have a cot though and my parents are taking me after christmas to get a pram so that's two expenses out the way.
Then I guess I also have a pram atm, mum has kept the silver cross coach built in pristine condition so she's going to get a new pram set and get that all polished too, not practicle as doesn't go in car/busses etc but be nice in the summer for out walking
It's this one
I know not everyone is a fan of these, but I love them :j0 -
Con my mum had that pram for me & my sister when we were little too,
My mum was in London yesterday, couldn't resist going in the baby dept in Harrods lol anyway they had that pram in there, and it was £1450!!!!!
Mind you a snip compared to the Versace buggy which was apparently £2700!0 -

the one my mum has is 27 years old and it looks brand new ( she got new tyres and that's all it needed) been used for my older brother, me and also had various neices/nephews and cousins in it ( everyone asks to borrow it for the christenings as it looks fancy lol ). I had a look at them online and couldn't beleive the price... glad I have one as I do love them so much and would be tempted but for that price I think I would need to trade my car in and wheel myself to work in the pram lol!!0 -
Yeah there's not even a chance at that price! Plus I have no where to put it I don't think it would even fit in our front door into the house as our hall way is so small lol!0
