Chelsea we bought our pram when I was 22 weeks (saw a great offer that I've not seem since) but only had it delivered recently :)
    Have you decided which one?

Cllola I'm a first timer & only seen mw 5 times so far (booking in, 16, 24, 29, 33) & now that's it until 37. Feeling a bit neglected as it says in my notes I should be seeing her every 2 weeks then every week. So I'm with you there! That seems an awful long time x

You seem to have 1 or 2 less appt than me - mine are booking, 16, 24, 28, 31,34, 36(then loads after that!) which matches the nhs guidelines. Maybe your midwife is stretching them out?!
  • neverdespairgirl I'm not sure if it's SPD or existing injuries causing the pain. It wasn't SPD in my first pregnancy it was other complication leading me to swell up and put pressure on my pelvis, and I suspect it's just that flaring up as I never fully recovered. I'll mention it to the midwife next week and see what she recommends. I had physio last time but it didn't help as it wasn't SPD. I hope your illness is easing up and you are feeling better. Good luck finding a not to expensive dress for your black-tie dinner.

Lara, mary and chelseablue you all make me feel unorganised. I haven't bought anything for baby yet - but we do still have quite a bit left from DS.

Mrs_T_M glad I'm not the only one getting comments about my size. The other day a well meaning colleague said "oh my god you're massive already, will the midife give you a band or something to support that bump?" she wasn't being nasty, it was more concern. Hope you're allergic reaction has calmed down.

Sophiasmum pleased to hear all was well at your rescan.

Mysecretalias, I'm bigger than my OH too. I used to be smaller, but after having DS we went on a see-saw and with OH holding DS they were exactly the same as me by myself - it was completely balanced! I usually sleep on my left hand side anyway as I have a 40GG chest, but it's just not comfy anymore. I've tried putting a pillow between my legs but it makes my hips hurt more. Without the pillow my bikini line aches. I hope you're feeling better from your infection and that your physio referral comes through soon.

Cllola I used a Phillips Avent electric pump last time, it was very good. I also used a Medela pump in the hospital and that was also good. I actually have more appointments this pregnancy but that's because a lot went wrong in the first and also I've now got a high BMI which I didn't have first time.

firey I've just been buying clothes in the next size up rather than maternity. Glad to hear one of us is having a bloom!

mrshappy hope you're gran is still comfortable and well looked after.

glimmer hope your HG and your cold eases soon, it really is awful to feel ill all the time.

samtoby in my first pregnancy I'd think 'ooh I need a wee' but by the time I'd got there it was evident I'd 'been' already even though I didn't feel myself do it. It's not happening this time yet, but I'm only 16 weeks so there's still time!

My pelvis is still killing, I think it's unlikely to ease up now, but it's not so bad in the mornings, gets worse as the day goes on. I'm feeling the baby move much more now, still not like kicks but I can definitely feel it wriggling about, I think it's been having a party today! The nausea seems to have come back too, especially in the evenings - I'm guessing baby is having a growth spurt and it's creating extra hormones as I've had a few stretching like pains too. I feel so blessed to be pregnant again despite the fact I moan alot.
  • anybody suffering with sore gums? I can hardly clean my teeth it's so painful :-/ and in the long run that's bad because you aren't cleaning the plaque off so they're getting sorer! sometimes they bleed too. i think it's quite normal - that's why you get free dental care in pregnancy. but I'm not sure what to do, should I make a dentist appointment? and say what my gums are sore? seems a bit embarrassing ha :-/

Firefrenzy maybe you have (cue best Peter Griffin voice) "GINGERVITIS!

AQM I try to budget well but I've been lucky to get some cracking bargains along the way, its easier once you know what you're having though as some prams are more tailored towards a girl or a boy.

And your colleague is shocking! How rude! I'm becoming very self concious too, I wish people would tgink before they make comments!

Is anyone else starving all the time? I had my normal porridge and bowl of pasta, then I nipped out and got some sushi and grapes, then when I got home ive had 2 slices of pizza, a small jackey potato with tuna mayo and a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes! And I'm actually seriously contemplating another bowl! Uggh I feel huge but I'm sooooo hungry :(
  • Cllola - 3rd pregnancy here and last time I saw midwife was at 12 week scan. I need to make an appt for when I'm 24 weeks.

Oh the joys of parents/in laws buying stuff for you on first pregnancy! Fab. Unfortunately most of my stuff lasted 2 children and that was that. I need to buy most stuff am feeling more confident to start now after successful scan. Continue to post bargains as I need to do this on a budget :) watching a couple of prams on eBay at mo. I still have the cot bed so that's a start!

Sophiasmum are you on any facebook seling sites? I've got some great stuff from them and boot sales x
  • Hi all hope you're well :) I'm thankfully feeling a little better bladder-wise, hip still blooming killing me though.

Re midwife appointments I haven't had one since 16 weeks, am 22+5 now. My next midwife appointment isn't until 28 weeks but I do have an antenatal doctor appointment at 25 weeks. I'm lucky though that my friend is a midwife at my hospital who has asked to deliver my baby for me :) so I can always text her in between appointments if I have problems. She came to our 20 week scan with us and it was really helpful :)

Re prams we have decided on the Uppababy Vista :) I love it!! We haven't ordered it yet, we are lucky like some others as OH's parents are paying. We are then going to get the maxi cosi car seat and isofix.

Fireyfirenze my gums bleed every morning it's really awful :( I really need to go to the dentist though but have been putting it off, I hate the dentist :(
You can just phone your dentist and say you're pregnant and would like a dental checkup. They won't question it I shouldn't think. You're entitled to go to the dentist for as many checkups as you want.

Aquamarinemonkey sorry to hear your pelvis is bad :( can you ask for a physio referral too?

Samtoby I wouldn't be embarrassed, it's one of those pregnancy things :) if it makes you feel better I've sneezed and wet myself a couple of times!!! :o

TMI alert - As for me...something absolutely hilarious happened last night....so OH and I are getting...hehem.....down and dirty in bed.... and my left nipple actually started leaking this white bitter fluid...I know it was bitter because it was unfortunately in OH's mouth at the time.....never laughed so hard in my life.....
Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

  • mary - my colleague is a really lovely lady, she didn't mean any harm, she knows all about my medical history as I do hers, she was just worried about me. If it was somebody who I didn't know quite so well I might have been offended!

mysecretalias I laughed out loud at your white bitter liquid story! I will ask the midwife next week if it's worth a physio referral. The pain isn't too bad when I'm resting, except when lying in the same position for a while, it's more when I'm trying to sleep or when I'm moving. Glad you're starting to recover from the infection.

Exciting times in our house tonight. Baby was having another party but right down low at the bottom of my bump, so I got OH to put his hand there even though I thought the movements would be too light for him to feel anything, but he could feel baby kicking away, he could defnitely feel it as he said each time and I felt the kicks too simultaneously, he did say it was very light though.
  • mysecretalias that is actually hilarious :D I keep warning my OH that it might happen but it's not put him off haha! not happened yet anyway...

18+2 today, feeling knackered after a week of half 5 get ups. i take back what I said about lots of energy ha.

Try eating more protein. From what you've said you've eaten, there isn't much protein in any of it other than the tuna mayo. Granted, baby may just be having a growth spurt and you'll be hungry.

I try to have at least some protein at every meal, and any snacks I may have as well. Even if it's just a scrambled egg or a spoonful of peanut butter. I'm also enjoying at least one serving of yoghurt and a pint of milk per day. HTH! :)
