Morning ladies. Sorry I've been AWOL. Had to go away all of a sudden for my granddad's funeral. I still need to read back and catch up with all your news.
I told my family about my pregnancy while we were away and thankfully they took it a lot better than I expected. Today we're going to tell OH's family and I feel a but sick and I'm dreading it.
Hope you're all doing well. Have a lovely weekend.

We got the Full Karyotype (full genetic test) results back yesterday, so 2 weeks 2 days after the Amnio. And luckily, thankfully, it says in black and white that there is no genetic evidence for Downs Syndrome Or Any Other Significant Genetic Abnormality! Wow. Phew. I had to go to bed I was suddenly so exhausted.
So I hope that means baby also doesn't have the genetic disorder SMD that husbands cousin has (he's 2 with a life limiting condition sadly). Which is a relief in itself. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -

Just had a bit of a scare and now I'm trying to calm down (DH is rubbing my back and we are watching CSI). Before I start, midwife says I'm fine and baby is fine as well, but if anything changes to call back.
This will probably be tmi btw.
We dtd Thursday night, woke up Friday with a ton of discharge. I had had increased discharge (wiping twice to get clean) the whole pregnancy, but since Friday morning, I've had to wipe 5-6 times to get clean. Mostly if I sneeze or when I poo. Since I am/was upset, my intestines decided to dump everything in them. After I cleaned up from that and wiped my front, I had a bit of blood when I wiped. Midwife called back and I talked to her and she said that the blood and extra discharge was probably from us dtd on Thursday night, and that we probably upset my cervix a bit. Now I just need to calm down.
I hadn't felt mini move since about 4, but I've been asleep since about 6. Was a bit upset about that, but I've felt a few small movements and one fairly strong kick since I've been up and downstairs, so that's helping to calm me down. I still feel like puking through.0 -
Mrs TM if you have felt movement that's really good & chances are it was from dtd. When I had bleeding every dr we saw asked had we had sex (which DH pointed out later how funny it was they all whispered it a bit but talked about cm and bleeding very normally!) and we hadn't but I was wishing we had to have given me a reason for it!!
Your cervix is very sensitive so it's easy to make it bleed by dtd. Just call your hospital if it gets any worse mine were really good and after examining me and not finding an answer I got a scan which really put my mind at rest as if there is bleeding from the uterus they said they can often see a dark patch on the screen. Which I didn't have so it remained a mystery.
Also I had quite a lot of bleeding hence me having to stay in the 2nd time, so if you've just had it when wiping it certainly points to your cervix being irritated.
The fact it happens so easily though meant me & DH having just got to 20 weeks and feeling brave enough to dtd were then put off and we still haven't! We've 'banned' ourselves til 32 weeks!
Glad I'm not the only one who gets an upset stomach when they're nervous.0 -
claire - I think we will be banning ourselves until after mini is here now, I don't think we can go through another scare like that! The midwife on call said the same thing about how sensitive the cervix is and she was very good at calming my fears, and DH has calmed me down now.
When I'm upset, I will get nauseous really bad and everything comes out the bottom end as well.
I think DH is having more and worse cravings than I am. He just stepped out to go to the corner store to get ice cream! :rotfl:0
