Just catching up on everybody's news after a weekend away! Hope I've not missed anybody out, apologies if so.

Must be a relief to feel baby moving Lara after your fall the other day.

Mary, I wouldn't have time to attend aquanatal, I know work have to give you time off for that kind of thing, but I don't want to take the mickey as I'm having a fair bit of time off with all the extra consultants appointments. My chair is on wheels though and I often rolled myself across the office prior to pregnancy!

Hope the pain in your hips isn't too bad mysecretalias and that your infection clears soon. With DS I don't remember being told an estimated weight at the 20 week scan. I was told when I had scans at 38 and 39 weeks (due to complications) and they estimated between 7 and a half and 8 pounds. DS was born at 40+1 weighing 6lbs 7oz, so I'd take any estimations with a pinch of salt!

Glad your midwife and GP are looking after you and being sympathetic sunshine.

Good to hear you're feeling more relaxed now robots.

wangdoodle I went to the NHS classes when expecting DS thinking it would be full of young mums (especially considering the area I live in has a high number of teenage mums) but I was surprised to find that most of the ladies at my class were about the same age as me (31 at the time) and also career women. There was one young girl who came to the first class but she never returned to the other 2. You have a lovely neat bump too!

Hope the protein in your urine turns out to be nothing serious glimmerofhope.

Sophiasmum from memory I think it's 24 weeks when you get the Mat b 1 form, because I had to officially tell work and include the mat b 1 by 25 weeks with DS and I remember thinking it was cutting it a bit fine by the time I got it.

Skinty congratulations and welcome! Hopefully the next few months will be as smooth and uneventful as possible.

It's good that all was well with your midwife appointment firey.

Cllola congratulations on your successful scan and being teampink.

Your post about feeling really happy was lovely mrshappy. I am also feeling very blessed at the moment.

AFM, had a lovely weekend, we booked a hotel in the Lake District for Friday night, so drove up lesuirely yesterday then spent the afternoon in the pool. Today we went to South Lakes Wild Animal Park, which was brilliant, DS loved it. As I was well rested before going I managed to walk round for hours without complaining. I'm feeling it now in my pelvis and would say I was waddling once we got home, but I'm planning on not doing much tomorrow so the pain should be gone for Monday :) Got a bit tired driving back this afternoon so stopped at a service station and treated myself to a Starbucks.

Got OH to take some bump pictures when I'd got changed into my swimsuit yesterday I was 15 weeks exactly. They're not the best as the light wasn't great and my handbag kind of ruins it further down the unit. My swimsuit has a skirt bit that's what the frilly thing is and apologies for the bit of side boob in one of them. I should point out my boobs are a 40GG and my bump dwarfs them! So, here is why I feel so massive:

(Haha whoops just realised I posted with the 'wrong account the other day! Thanks for the heads up Aqua! I'd be most obliged if you'd edit & alter your above comment to remove the (very kind) comment to the poster... details edited out
    - I do realise this MSG be pregnancy hormone paranoia! :rotfl:
Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.
  • I've edited it robots!
  • I didn't get given any birth weight estimates until much later than 20 weeks last time either - and I also would take them with a pinch of salt, because Isaac's weight was estimated at 11lb and he weighed 8lb.

My bump's much smaller than those above, my stomach muscles must be clinging on for grim death!
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
  • Thank you so much Aqua, for both being kind enough to reply to an unknown poster (and thus alerting me to my mistake) and for editing it xx

I'm really unsure about my bump size, and it totally depends on how I'm standing. I've been quite uncomfortable today, I'm not sure if it's bump starting to squash up my stomach or just indigestion! (I don't get indigestion so I'm not sure!)

And as I'm a pedant, as before: Thanks sunshine, Youve reassured me now that I made the right decision to cancel my 16week and attend that course instead. (Which was brilliant by the way, I've not felt so energised and satisfied in a long time)
    {reading that back that sounds a little dodgy doesn't it! But so true!;) Lol!}

    Lovely photo wangdoodle :)

glimmer i know from experience that if they are immediately worried about PreEclampsia they'll check you in, monitor you and give you pills... So I'm sure you're fine. I've read online of people having protein show up for numerous reasons.

I've also been sick twice yesterday and today, and can't figure out if it's baby-sickness returned or if I'm ill! I'm tired & queesy, no appetite and have been sick... So I'm either ill, overtired after yesterday or just pregnant! :rotfl:

Sounds like I was lucky to hear baby's heartbeat after the Amnio, that was an upside to the process.

  • Oh and aqua I love your bump photo and swimming cozzie! You look fab!

  • You look lovely and pregnant Aquamarinemonkey I'm looking forward to looking actually pregnant rather than just bloated/ fat. Where did you get your maternity cozzie from? We booked our Sun holiday for early June so I guess I'll need to get one if I'm going to use the pool!

Aw, Robots sorry you're being sick again. I hope it passes quickly.

I had a bit of a paddy this morning as I tried to find something to wear. I can still fit in some of my dresses but I'm a bit limited now and everything I tried on today just made me look lumpy! So I bought a couple of cheap maternity bits off eB@y. I know it seems a bit early but I thought it would be good to spread the cost. We move in 3 weeks and I'm sure that'll involve spending plenty of money, then we'll have to start getting things for baby. I start to panic when I think about how we'll afford it all, but I guess either we will budget for things or do without..

Hope you're all having a good weekend

    Hope everyone is well :)
I've had a pretty stressful couple of days, my gran in in hospital-she was admitted before Christmas and discharged last week, but is back in, she is very old, and has a UTI, a chest infection, in dehydrated and possibly had a minor heart attack yesterday. She seems to know that she is in a bad way and my hormones have been making me very emotional.

    Hope you're feeling better robots.
As for estimated birth weights, pffft, with my first they told me that he was at least 8lbs about 4 weeks before he arrived weighing 7lbs 1oz. I've not had weight mentioned at 20 weeks before.

Time for my bed I think-this is a late night for me :)

Oh, meant to share this, 20+1
