Hi All
Just back from my 16w mw appointment.I had protein in my sample so they have had to send it off, but as my bp was ok she isn't worried. Also had blood taken as the lab mucked up one of the samples.
But on the positive side and totally unexpected I got to hear babas heartbeat. :j
Makes the two episodes of sick worth it today.
Hope everyone is ok todayTwenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."Official DFW Nerd 1365

Glad not the only one worried about being old at the NHS classes, but at 30 I wouldn't worry claire I'm quite a bit older!
Sorry about the protein in your sample glimmerofhope hope it's nothing serious, but how exciting that you got to hear baby.
Thanks for the link Robots
I managed to upload my bump pic to photobucket so I'm going to try to post it here :eek:0 -
Thanks guys,
firey I'm hoping so, hoping it'll give me chance to do the jobs that are stressing me out as well as giving me time to rest up and not get up for work at 5:30am. Also hoping I might miraculously hear about CBT too by then? I didn't ask about antenatal classes per se she just gave me a breastfeeding booklet and said she'll book the classes at 25 weeks but didn't go into it anymore, so let me know if you find anything out!
Robots In my area you don't get a 16 week appointment, you get an 18 week one instead. She only really did BP, urine and then a generic chat so I don't think it'll matter if you go a bit later. PS thanks for the link I'll be reading that when OH has finished playing chess online :rotfl:
Lovely that you heard the heartbeat Glimmerofhope! My midwife doesn't do it til 25 weeks. Luckily I have my doppler at home, baby HB (we call him/her baby heartbeat after being in awe of seeing the heartbeat at a private 8 week scan!) has definitely moved upwards, I always found the heartbeat by the bikini line but now it's half way between the bikini line and belly button! Hopefully the urine sample will test as fine x
Lovely bump pic wangdoodle! xx

Last night we also learnt about the 'sympathetic relationship between the mouth and the vagina'
(yes we giggled too) and watched a video about how to massage the perineum from 34 weeks!
:rotfl: omg I just spat my drink out! What exactly does this relationship involve?!
Lara I'm glad to hear you're feeling better, I would have thought tge pains would be in your back if they were caused by the fall so hopefully it is stretching pains xx
Wangdoodle that is one nice little belly! It really suits you
Robots those fold up things are great! I got a fold up playmat similar to how you describe, I think I may think up excuses for trips so I get to use it more lol! X0 -

Hahaha well after I picked my mind out if the gutter I started to understand it meant that if your mouth and face are relaxed and open then so will your lady bits!
We were taught to breathe in through the nose and sigghhhhhh (yes that's how she said it) our breath out and to relax our face and lips during labour!0 -
Mysecretalias - was not told eta birth weight at scan and haven't been in 2 previous pregnancies. I would think it's much too early to tell. They don't start monitoring growth to nearer to 30 weeks (measuring bump)·I measured small with my 2 dds and ended up having numerous growth scans - I think I just have small babies 6·3 and 6·10 lbs. Only measurement I heard at 20 week scan was femur length - think babies was 32·
I have had heart burn today - not helped by me only dancing cheese and biscuits to eat!
Can't remember when we get mat b 1 form for work? Bear in mind I didn't have 16 week appt I think my next . Appt is 24 weeks…0 -
Hello
I thought I'd pop on. I'm Skinty, pregnant with my second child but seventh pregnancy, and relieved to have made it past 12 weeks with this one. I had my scan today and all is well. i already had three scans at St Mary's in London where I've been treated under their Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic.
I inject enoxaparin and take baby aspirin daily as I have Faactor V Leiden, a genetic blood clotting disorder which causes miscarriage, still birth, growth retardation, and for me, increased risk of pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis, and stroke.
So this is a tough time for me! But I really want another baby. I had my DD before I was diagnosed and had a lovely natural homebirth with physiological third stage, so am planning another homebirth and will decline consultant care.
We haven't gone public yet but told DD who is 4 tonight. I showed her the scan pic and asked her what she thought it was. We expected her to get it as she has been going on for ages about wanting a sibling, but she guessed "mole" and then "badger"!
I will try and post the scan pic but it may take me a while.
I've added myself to the list below, hope I did it right. I don;t do due dates as they are so inaccurate, so I'm just saying the end of July.
Please add yourself, due date and 20 week scan date:

Thanks Hun
About the matb1 form I just went to my doctors reception at 20 weeks and they filled out the form for me, told me the doctor would sign it overnight, then I went the next day to pick it up. So you can probably just ask your doctors at the reception deskOur first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
