    Hi

Haven't posted much recently as I never seem to get a minute. I asked my two yr old if I would get any mat leave from my activities of chasing her round the garden, going swimming, to toddler groups, the library etc and she said No! Lol! Unless I get get some grandad maternity cover nearer the time, fingers crossed :p

Good to see you're managing to eat a bit now Claire. You've gone through the mill a bit with all that sickness.

Can't believe I'm going to be 20wks tomorrow. Got my scan on Thurs so hope everything is ok. Little bubs is moving about so that's reassuring. I can't wait to find out if we're team pink or blue. I have a strong feeling it's pink to the extent that I will be a bit shocked (but happy) if it's a boy :)

It's odd, I thought I had no idea but when the sonographer said 'its a girl' my reaction was well yes, obviously lol so I must've known on some level

My mum never believes the ways of telling if it's a boy or girl pregnancy as she had three girls and carried us all differently with different symptoms/cravings and she thought every single one of us would be a boy lol

Going shopping today, live near a mothercare world so guna get some essentials and order her furniture- found a set I really like for £450

And unfortunately I have to leave you ladies, as today is the magic 24 weeks :D so so pleased and just want time to fast forward now so I can. meet my little girl x

    Hi girls,

Glad your OH didn't ruin your night Con! My OH has recently acted exactly the same and I just know his friends (who are mostly single) are edging him on with 'She's not your boss' etc comments. Hopefully your OH will be extra nice today to make up ;)

Good news that your starting to feel better Claire, you've been through a lot with the sickness and make me feel a little better about my own MS. Hopefully things should start calming down for you

Can't believe Becca and Squ1rrel can stay out that late! I'm tired by 9pm the latest (big improvement from a few weeks ago of 6.30). And did lol about the man chatting you up Squ1rrel, would loved to have seen his face!

Good luck with your scan on Thursday Faithhope :)

Can't wait to join you in the next thread Teamlowe, feels like a long way away yet though!

I've thought we will be having a girl from the start Con but OH is convinced its a boy. I would be surprised if its a boy but still really happy as we don't have either at the moment anyway. Can't wait to find out though :D

I have also woken up with a cold sore today :( I suffer with them around this time of year maybe every other year or so and was a little worried as I heard it was dangerous during pregnancy. But as far as I can make out its only if you haven't had one before. Anyone else had a cold sore during pregnancy?

Faith the latest I've managed is 10pm and that's only been on a couple of occasions!

I read an awful story about a baby whose Dad kissed him and the virus from his cold sore killed him, but that was direct contact.

From what I can see on google it's only dangerous if it's the first one you've had which isn't true in your case. Maybe just call your go tomorrow to get some reassurance? There are lots of posts online from women with cold sores in pregnancy but it seems to be ok from what they're saying.

I haven't posted in ages, I can't log on on my iPod so I'm mostly lurking at the mo. Good to see the sick ladies seem to be getting some relief now - I can feel less guilty!

We've just booked a week away for the end of the month... I assume you don't need a doctors note at 17/18 weeks with Ryanair. We weren't planning to go away but the offer of a week away from the office was too good to pass up.

Saw the discussions on holiday pay - apparently I have to use mine prior to mat leave as I won't be back within the holiday year. We get 29 working days so I guess I'll be finishing earlier than planned.

Loving my doppler - trying to restrict ourselves to once a week but it is so reassuring to hear the heartbeat on a regular basis. Best purchase so far :)
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

Nope but when we do I'm picturing going to a few shops, practising pushing some & picking one? Do you mean it's not that easy lol

The other day I looked up car seats and travel systems and that confused me so much I just shut the page down!

Haha Claire I imagined that too! We've narrowed it down to 3 but I have no clue what I actually really need out of a pushchair!!

  • My OH has his heart set on an icandy, and after a play yesterday I may be convinced. It's not cheap though... Won't be ordering anything for a whole yet, definitely not before the scan next month but with the expense of Christmas we're trying to spread out the big purchases a bit and not leave them all to the last minute (as we usually do!)

Does anyone just not feel pregnant? I'm 15+4 and if it was for my little tiny bump and complete exhaustion I just feel normal...it unnerves me a bit!

I think main things are that it's easy to manoeuvre, not too heavy when lifting/packing into boot of car.

Laura I feel the same apart from the sickness I have.
