Hi everyone,
Am back and all is well! Scan was amazing - there was so much detail to see. We're firmly staying Team Yellow, but I just really feel it's a little girl - we'll see!!! Baby would not play with the sonographer and we were there a couple of hours including having to go walk round and get a cold drink to try and get them to shift!
Got a sore tummy now as she was pressing really hard on me at points to try and get to see the last couple of things, but overall just really relieved.
cheese - hope your scan is also ok.
robotsindisguise - I am so so sorry you are still waiting for your results and please don't apologise for telling us - this is a place to come to for support. I really hope you get to hear this afternoon, but if not, is there something you can plan to do tomorrow/for the rest of the weekend to try and get your mind off it a bit? Sending you big hugs x
mysecretalias - I did have the sore nipples earlier in pregnancy but it's gone now (now I've got leaky boobs instead!!!).0 -
the nurse just rang, and our baby has been given the all clear for Downs, Edwards and Patau Syndromes :j
The full Karyotype test will take 2 weeks. That's a test for other genetic abnormalities... but those are things that normally wouldn't be guessed at until the 20 week abnormality scan or birth, or later, so they aren't why the testing was done, if you see what I mean. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I'm so glad for you Becsxxx, that must be a huge relief. I never knew they'd wait / persevere for so long to get good images, that's very reassuring. Do you get photos to take home at that scan?
Thanks for being so kind as well. It's father in laws birthday tomorow so we are seeing him which would have taken my mind off the wait, but I'm so glad I can now see him and be genuinely happy. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... Robots that's such good news!
Makes you wonder why your nuchal result was so high risk doesn't it!
You must be so relieved. Now you can rest up properly x0 -
Excellent news Robot - that's why I hate that test, its so vague and inaccurate!
Becsxx - cant believe it took a couple of hours! Guess that's why Ive got to go back - she only persevered for 30 mins when trying to see everything. So glad everything was ok - fab photo! Photos are free in my hospital too. That's a really good profile pic -on my photo baby is face on and looks weirdly skeletal.0 -
Robots that's the best news ever. I'm so so happy and relieved for you, I can't imagine what it must have been like having to wait for those results
Becsxxx that's a cutie!! Looks like a girl to me
Thanks all for reassurance about my boobs!!! The stinging has gone now but if it comes back I won't be worried
