Hi ladies, thanks for the well wishes for today.
All went well. They were pleased with how the procedure went. Baby was very wiggly and needed poking to get to move! It was upside down and legs and hands were trying to get in the way! Bonus was husband got lots of time able to look at bean on the screen.
There was still a heartbeat at the end (phew!), and that plus getting through the first 20 minutes after without bleeding means the mc risk has halved (dropped to 0.5 in 200). Every hour that goes by is now a good thing.
I came home, got into bed and fell asleep for 5 hours! The nurse warned me I'd sleep but this was crazy!
I'll write out what happened later / tomorow, in case it helps anyone in do the future plus it's cathartic for me.
Sophia's mum - I'm glad all looked ok, and it's nice you get another look, hope all remains ok for you.
Beccs - sounds like the session was very good for you. Thank you for that link, pnd is something I'm aware I'd be susceptible to, the more info the better I think.
Hope everyone else is ok, I'm so tired I can't remember what I just read. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
Glad to hear that your appointment with the nurse went well becs, that your tests went welland you've not had bleeding robots, and that baby was fine at your scan and you get to have another look sophiasmum.
Everybody was called into an emergency meeting at work today and we found outthat there are going to be redundancies throughout the company. There is going to be 1 redundancy in my department, but our management says it depends upon whether someone currently on maternity decides to come back or not. If she doesn't then nobody will be made redundant but she won't be replaced. If she does then somebody else will have to be made redundant. There's a 4 week consultation period, so I'll know in 4 weeks time if I'm going to be at risk or if I'm definitely safe. I'm going to try not to worry until the 4 weeks are up and the lady currently on maternity has made her decision. Other departments are being hit even harder, so I suppose the good news is that we only have to lose 1 person.0 -
Robots so glad it went well! Get some rest you've been through a lot today xxx
Sorrry can't remember who said it but yes rescanning seems to be common, pretty much everyone on here seems to need to go back!0 -
Glad your scan went well Robots. A 5 hour nap sounds like bliss. Rather jealous.
Aqua I am sorry to hear about the redundancies. Not what you want to have on your mind at all. I know it's easier said than done at this time but try not to worry about it too much. Hope you don't have to wait too long to find out what will happen.
That sounds like a great plan Alias. We have just brought a house and so trying to get it ready for the baby at the same time as trying to save so I feel your irritation.
Not too much to report from me today. Keep browsing eBay looking for bargains for my little bean. Picked this up today:
http://www.mothercare.com/Fisher-Price-Rainforest%E2%84%A2-Melodies-and-Lights-Deluxe-Gym%E2%84%A2/953770,default,pd.html#q=gym
It is used but looks brand new and all for the bargain of £4.99...so pleased!! Just had to pick it up but was lucky enough for it to only be a 5 minute drive away.
Am also 22 weeks today so according to the information online baby is weighing about a pound and is the size of a spaghetti squash (whatever one of them is).0 -
I have a spaghetti squash in my larder cupboard - my Dad grows them. But it weighs 4lb!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Glad it went as well as it could Robots - rest up !!x
Im trying not to dwell on the unsuccessful scan - I had 2 attempts at the 12 week scan so Im thinking Ive got an awkward baby!
Seems a more common thing to be called back now - when I had my daughter 5 years ago Id never heard of it, but speaking to some people yesterday (& on here!) can see that people do get called back regularly.
MysecretAlias - Im thinking same as you, if there was something awfully wrong they would have spotted it and referred. She did spend ages looking at the heart but it was as if she couldn't get a photo of it for measurements - kept trying but failing as baby flipped away.
Baby savings - what are they? Mine are being dwindled away by non baby things unfortunately.. Life just seems so expensive at the mo, always something. Need to do some urgent thinking re money! x0 -
mysecretalias wrote: »Oh also I should add that I'm very jealous of how much you've got saved in your baby fund chelseablue
we would have similar but all our spare pennies are in the mortgage fund, so having to channel small bits into the baby pot wherever possible!
I am quite proud though because I've been very organised and started a maternity leave ISA which will cover me for the last 3 months of maternity leave where I won't get paid, my target is £6000 (by Feb 2015) and I've already got £1600 in there so getting there, slowly! Just so hard when we've got to save for mortgage at the same time!!
Thank you
I had some of it saved before I knew about baby, I wish I could save 9 grand in 20 weeks!
Am I right that you've also been confirmed as team blue? x0 -
robots - glad your scan was ok and everything is fine at the moment. hope you are not worrying too much at the moment
vickyvics - what a bargain!.0 -
Glad the amnio went ok robots must have been nerve wracking.
How long do you have to wait for results?0 -

We have this - my son loved and got so much use out of it for many, many months. He used it from just a few weeks old even before he started reaching for things above him... Highly recommended...TTC #3..........0
