Scan complete
was really nervous going in not helped as the lady who was scanning me was same person who scanned me after my miscarriage. All looked fine but baby was a wriggler! Got to go back on 22nd for further scan of heart - she couldn't get a a good view. Has told me not to worry and tbis happens to lots of people so im hoping shes right! Another chance to peek at baby anyway and we have stayed team yellow! !

Sophiasmum - I'm glad all was well. My LO was a wriggler when I went last week so I have to go back next week for another one because the midwife just wasn't able to complete half of the checks. It really does seem to be quite a common thing. I was wondering whether it was something I ate in the morning that hyped her up lol. Maybe the fruit juice I had at breakfast had too much sugar in it?0

sophiasmum - congrats! and lovely to have to go again really, more time to have a look at little one.
afm, had my appointment with the psychiatric nurse today. did not get off to a good start when there was literally nowhere to park on site and (after 30 mins of driving around!) I broke down in tears! thought she was going to think I was completely bonkers to start with!!!!
the nurse was absolutely lovely though and basically went through my family history and lots of questions about my current life etc. Even though I cried quite a few times, I actually found it very therapeutic and she was very reassuring.
I have been assessed as having a higher risk of post-natal depression than normal, but not enough for ongoing monitoring to be required unless I feel I need it at some point. She had lots of interesting things to say about PND, including that it is more common in career women, as we usually have such high standards and put too much additional pressure on ourselves to have everything seem "wonderful."
She is sending me an info pack on the coping strategies we talked about. In case anyone is interested, she also told me to look up the netmums compassionate mind pages as this has been proven to be an excellent way of managing PND and being more content generally. This is the link if it helps anyone:

Yay Sophiasmum! :j Routine ultrasound scans are the only time more tests are actually exciting.
That's interesting to hear becsxxx, and glad you got a lot out of it.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Glad to hear everything was well sophiasmum, and it's good you get to go back, I'm sure the heart will be fine, they no doubt would have picked up anything serious with baby today
Becsxxx sounds like you definitely needed to get things off your chest, glad you are feeling better for it. I will definitely check those pages out, I'm a real worrier and the thought of suffering from PND does get me anxious.
AFM not much to report really. Got my MATB1 form from my doctor yesterday so got that processed at work today, just got to wait for my maternity entitlement letter now to start planning when I will go off in my maternity leave!!
Chelseablue I haven't really felt anything - I felt a couple of pops the other day (when I got really excited) and since then nothing. I'm 20+3 today. I'm nervous for Monday too. The sooner we get these scans done the better I think!!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Oh also I should add that I'm very jealous of how much you've got saved in your baby fund chelseabluewe would have similar but all our spare pennies are in the mortgage fund, so having to channel small bits into the baby pot wherever possible!
I am quite proud though because I've been very organised and started a maternity leave ISA which will cover me for the last 3 months of maternity leave where I won't get paid, my target is £6000 (by Feb 2015) and I've already got £1600 in there so getting there, slowly! Just so hard when we've got to save for mortgage at the same time!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
