The NHS *is* baffling. I have had very good care so far, but the admin side has been a bit of a nightmare. The GP receptionists work from a different schedule from the community midwives, so everyone has been telling me different things about when to book appointments and who with. Nobody seems to know what is going on, least of all me. But we will get there in the end.

I hope your hyperemesis improves Neverdespairgirl, it sounds really tough. Nausea is horrible and really gets you down.

    ((((Hugs)))) for more spotting, Robots.

Exciting that your scan is sooner than expected, becsxxx. I hope the nurse appointment is just a formality to let you know how to get help if you need it.

Good luck Sophiasmum, will be thinking about you!

I got a 'learning agreement' in the post this morning from the council for my pilates class! I promise not to squeeze too hard :rotfl: I had to sign and return the daft thing.

Afternoon all - hope everyone is well. Hugs to anyone who needs them.

Anyone else completely losing their mind?? I just had a conversation with a nurse and work in which i was convinced the year 2000 was only 4 years ago...I mean why on earth would i think that?? I also keep forgetting the names for people and things, i couldnt remember the name of a memory stick last night...I ended up calling it a cucumber and hoping DH would understand...Luckilly he did!!

I thought baby brain was a myth...dont remember being this stupid last time!!

Cllola - that's so funny! Cucumber memory stick! I had similar... I didn't know the word for lawn mower so I said 'garden vaccume'!

Thanks for the Hugs Lara, but it's not me with spotting this time. I did the day of my 12 week scan, and have another scan & amniocentesis tomorrow at 15 weeks.

I was thinking about it a lot yesterday... I read on 2 of the big baby site forums that sometimes spotting/bleeding can lead to high Hcgb hormone levels, and that placenta issues can lead to squiffy Pappa-A... So it got me thinking... Or clutching at straws!! Either way it's made me less panicked about tomorow.

Haha garden vaccume! I keep forgetting peoples names too, even mine...but that's because it changed 3 weeks ago after signing my life away to a life of wifery...

Good luck for tomorrow. How long does it take for the results to come back?

Finally in to see the doctor, an hour after my appointment time!!! They're still not 100% sure why I'm here, but probably about me wanting a home birth. Wish me luck!

I got to hear the heartbeat! Whee! Even better, the consultant said she's happy for me to have a home birth as long as nothing changes. She said I'd just need to find a midwife that feels confident and able to move me (with dh's help) if I cannot move myself. Made my appointment for the 32 week scan + follow up consultant appointment, and I'll be stopping my my gp's office to go ahead and make all of my midwife appointments and get it over with.

Great to hear you'll get the birth you want Mrs TM, although I now have an image of you auditioning midwives by getting them to haul you up off the floor lol

Be thinking of you tomorrow Robots, hope all goes smoothly

Re: baby brain, I also thought it was a myth until it took me the whole 30 minute commute to figure out how old I was and then realised halfway through the day that I'd still managed to get it wrong! Lol
