    Morning all,
Quick selfish post, am at work. You know you have your number for your midwife on the front of your green notes... Well do you ring them for anything? I keep getting dizzy spells... I work in a mental health unit and the nurse has just done my bp twice and it was 84/65 and 92/68. I know it lowers in pregnancy and mine is usually low but not that low.
Ps I'm not asking for medical advice, just whether you'd ring your midwife or gp x

If it is something that is worrying you I would ring the midwife. Especially if it is making you feel unwell. Far better to be safe than sorry xx
  • Can't hurt to call them Sunshine. Here I can call the unit before 10, her mobile after that but expect to be phoned back.
    Have you eaten today?

  • I had the same problem Sunshine, had to sit down in the middle of New Look and Morrisons and looked like a total fool!!

Went to the Doctors and they took my bloods and my white blood cell count was higher than it should have been and they said I was fighting an infection and to just rest up and take it easy.

Aww thanks guys. I always have a proper breakfast when I wake, yet it seems to come on really badly about 2 hours after waking and then occasionally throughout the morning.

I'm currently on antibiotics for an infection picked up when I had my first faint 10 days ago, the midwife was dead nice just said to eat and drink little and often. I did get a bit tearful over nothing! I take medication for obsessive thoughts when not pregnant, and it's getting to me a bit now, I'm even getting stressed when I've less of a bump in the morning than in the afternoon!! Might see the GP to see if she can hurry my CBT referral through.

    16+4 x

My scan date has been changed :( and put back 2 days, so i will now be 21+1 before i get my 20 week scan!

On a different note is anyone else planning to work right up to their due date? I am planning to finish on 22nd May (due 29th) and take 5 days annual leave until mat leave starting on due date. This is mainly due to finances and wanting to squeeze as much full mat pay into the post birth bit. Also last time i finished at 36 weeks and DS was 2 weeks late so i was bored out of my mind for 6 weeks!

I'm hoping i will be able to cope but reading the other thread and the ladies finishing around the 36 week mark and being tired and ready to finish makes me wonder whether i will! :undecided

I'm playing it safe... we get a new lot of annual leave to use on the 1st April, so I'm planning to take 3 weeks annual leave then start mat leave at 39 weeks x

Just popping by from the other thread.

I had similar thoughts but due to everyone protesting it I'm now taking 5 days annual leave 17th-21st March and starting Mat Leave on the 24th March with baby due on the 28th which is that Friday.

I only worked out a few weeks back that by doing that I would get a 'full' pay packet (give or take two days) in March then (pay day is 25th which would be the Tuesday with it processed the end of the week before) so I was a bit sneaky and informed the Chief Exec that I planned to use some of my AL entitlement then which he is happy with. Although, I think that may be because it means I have a few days less to worry about using on my return!
