I think it was around 21/22 weeks when oh could feel movements from the outside. Now I'm at 28 weeks you can also see them sometimes!! Looks very alien like!!:D

Thanks - I can't wait for this!!!!!! Felt a little bit like the film alien just feeling the movement, so can imagine little hands, elbows or feet must be bonkers!

Becsxxx I'm a second pregnancy-er and i have been feeling irregular movements for a couple of weeks, last night was the first time DH felt something from the outside but it was a very well timed strong kick and they arent always that strong. I remember it was well after my 20 week scan last time that i felt anthing at all.

Birdie85 Hmmm i suffer with my hips and back too so sitting at the desk all day might not be fun when i'm that far gone...something to think about.

Welcome MrsMuffin, i hope your headaches stop soon. I got really bad headaches up until a couple of weeks ago and not had one since. I wondered if it was the high level of hormones for the first few months that was responsible.

The (young and single..) guys in my team at work just look at me strangely when I talk about baby moving. I think it was one of them that said "its like the film alien then??!" :rotfl:

Apparently I look "proper" pregnant now, think its just as I haven't been in the office for 2 weeks!

I'm officially starting mat leave at 38+1, but in all likelihood will use holiday to finish around 36-37 weeks.

  • mrsmuffin - I never got my maternity exemption form from my midwife at the booking in appointment, in fact she didn't even mention it! I ended up ringing my doctors and they had the forms -- I went down and filled the first part in and then returned it and the doctor signed it and sent it off. took about 2 weeks to come. just another option :)

becsxxx - aw so nice you're feeling movement! must be lovely :) do share your furniture half price bargain - I'm on the lookout at the moment!

eek can't remember who said about the headaches but iv had some right crackers this pregnancy, worse than iv ever had! you mentioned 4head but you can take paracetamol too? they're horrible arent they.

I had a dream last night that I gave birth and my baby turned out to be a sea bass. a fish. erm...?!

    15+1 today :)

    this is it: http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_258408_10001

just really loved the colours (very country cottage which is what we are hoping to buy!) and it is very sturdy in the flesh. Note it doesn't come with the baskets though, there are gaps there so you need to buy baskets separately (or use those areas as storage shelves). You can also get a 1/2 price mattress if you buy this set (plus cashback through Quidco - very :money:) and the delivery was super quick (and free too).

I really hope you don't give birth to a fish!!!!!!!!!!:eek: Crazy what the hormones do to our brains isn't it?!?

  • My dreams are crazy too - although I haven't given birth to a fish hehe.

In one dream my OH completed a photography course (he's a long distance lorry driver) and admitted to sleeping with every girl in the class!! I told my mam about this (failing to mention it was a dream) she turned around to OH and with disgust called him a dirty dog hahahaha.

Wish I started writing them down so I could look back at them in a few years time for a giggle!

I dreamt that I gave birth to one of my childhood dolls while visiting my mum, bizarre!

I wondered if it was that set when you posted you were looking at something reduced to half price at £500! Im going there tomorrow to look at it in the store before I decide. I just spent 10 mins waiting on the phone to get through to them as its an hours drive from me so I wasnt driving there without checking if it was on display first! Its that or one in John Lewis or another in Mamas and Papas I cant decide!

If we do I'll have to hunt down baskets somewhere!
  • Welcome mrsmuffin! I had to ask my doctor for the exemption card. He told me to go to the doctors reception and ask for the form, which I filled in, then they sent it off for me, and I got it. It did take them to send two forms off and several weeks before I actually got the card, but I've been told that's rare and usually you should get it (on the first attempt!) within a couple of weeks.

    Hope everyone is well!!

Re maternity leave, I'm due on the 25th May. I was originally intending on starting my leave on the 16th May but I realise now it's probably slightly naive to expect to work right up until a week before (!!!) so now I am intending on starting it at the end of April and will use most of my holiday before so I can still start my maternity on the 16th.

Still not felt any movement.....I WILL NOT get worried about it!!! 2014 is the year for a positive me, not a worrier anymore!!
Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

    Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T
