GRRRR, just trying to book NCT classes for us, and almost all of the convenient ones in our area have already gone! Am I really late on this boat - has everyone else already booked them?

Just seen Kiddicare are offering 15% off at the mo (including sale but NOT that particular set) PLUS increased cashback on Quidco (up to 15%) - GRRRRRRRRR - very annoyed now that I did my shopping early!!!

Having a browse and found the baskets online though:
    https://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_101896_10001

Yeah I got the 15% advertised in an email to me today - so is it not valid on that furniture set then?! I was hoping to look at it tomorrow and then if we like it, go home order it and save 15%!

I was annoyed anyway though as I ordered a car seat, nanny breathing alarm mat and a breathable cot wrap which came to £180 odd and I only got 5% on quidco! although apparently it doesnt apply to car seats either but I could have still got it on the other two things.

Funny you should mention that today as I've just panic booked ours! I'm only 14+1 but my friend who has just had a baby looked shocked when I told her yesterday that I hadn't booked yet as it felt too soon. Who knew they filled up so quickly?!

I did do some google searching earlier about antenatal stuff and found a few different classes near me that sounded the same as nct ones. Maybe you could try googling for your area?

As from me, bit worried as had a rash come up on my hand earlier and had a sore throat last night....got a last minute appointment with the doctor who said it appears I have a tonsillitis kind of virus so now I'm relaxing on the sofa in my dressing gown drinking plenty of fluids.

Hope everyone else is well xx

    I've been Money Tipped!
Claire if you are going there Tomo could you order online now & take back the one you've already ordered? X
First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/14 :D
  • do most people do the NCT classes? do you get antenatal classes from the NHS also?
  • I went to the NHS classes, which I thought were great. They were in Islington, so naturally there were a variety of couples there, most a lot older than us, but also two lesbian couples who were mothers-to-be via AI.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

I didn't even think of that! I guess I could! Can I be bothered...not sure lol

Firey my hospital just offers a one day course. So were doing nct. Everyone I know who has done them liked them & made good friends as the people tend to come from a smaller radius.
  • Hope you recover from the tonsilitus quickly catloverbex.

fireyfirenze - with DS I just went to the NHS antenatal classes. I'm not sure if they limit it to your first pregnancy or not, as I'll go again if I'm eligible.

My craving for the past few days has been Indian food - I'm hoping it goes soon as it's starting to get expensive - last night we went to a restaurant, and tonight we're having takeaway as I can't entertain the thought of eating anything else. The funny thing is normally I prefer Chinese! At least I've gone through Quidco for the Just-Eat cashback!

I've told my Head of Department and Department Manager now that I'm pregnant, they were very nice about it, much nicer than I was expecting them to be. I've not told the rest of our department yet - we do have a team meeting on Monday, but I can't decide whether to tell or to wait a bit longer. Bump is definitely growing as I'm starting to get uncomfortable at times (and I'm only 13 weeks), I am also feeling baby move, and I know that's what it is as I remember what the first movements felt like - it's like someone tapping me gently at random points inside my tummy. It's not like big kicks, I felt DS move early too - I'm very sensitive to touch.

Hope everyone is feeling well and has a good weekend!
