Robots I am so glad you you have an understanding doctor. It really does make a difference to have someone there that trying to work with you instead of against you.Poor husband! My DH is also having a very quick education in the cost of a baby lol. Although, he is quickly getting the hang of it. A little too quickly in fact, its now getting to the point where I have to say 'do we really need that' lol. xx

Let me know what you think! They had some baskets that fit it on sale at £7.49 each (not the same ones as the piccie)

Saw it in store today and just ordered it online to get the quidco discount!

I really liked the inside of the wardrobe, it has a much better design that any of the other furniture Ive looked at - most wardrobes just had 2 hanging rails so the fact this had 2 plus a load of shelving was brilliant!

Just need to get the baskets at some point, they actually had dark ones in the display unit instore.

VickyVics, you dont need to be an NCT member to book a course - when you book a course you can choose to pay another £40 to be a member. If youre a member you can get in early to NCT nearly new sales, which my friend assures me means you get the best bargains :) And then magazines etc sent to you. They are held quite regularly where I live.

The pricing is done depending where you live - UK, london fringe and London. There is a pricing chart listed on the NCT website to show how much per hour it costs for each of the 3 areas (annoying we are just in the London fringe so its costing us quite a lot!)

Then you just look at the courses listed in your area, and they will say how many hours they are, and then you can work it out.

  • Hello All,

Been shopping with my pregnant best friend today, she is 11.5 weeks. We popped into mothercare to check out the prams etc.

Were told about a deal that's available in January only due to sale prices. Basically, 'The Baby Plan' you pay 10% refundable deposit on a pushchairs/prams/car seats (must spend over £100 but easily done!) this then holds the item at the sale price for 6 months - during which time you can make payments or if you change your mind you get a refund on it. My friend ended up purchasing her pram/car seat today for only £430 instead of nearly £650 because of the sale. Even better she's only paid £43 deposit! Also, if you spend over £100 you get an extra 15% off until end of tomorrow.

Although, I'm only 6 weeks pregnant, I must admit this is a stonkingly good deal and myself and OH are tempted to place a refundable deposit just to hold the sale price!

Snap! Was it the Teo (think that was the name) one?

Hubby wants us to wait until after our 20 week scan which is hard because there are so many bargains around at the moment!

Just popping back in for a lurk...

With the mothercare deal, my friend did that about 3 months ago on her pram, because it was on offer in kiddicare. Mothercare price matched and did it on the Baby Plan so they've paid it off a bit at a time. Not sure where they got the "only available in January" thing, unless they meant "at this price."

Mary, I'm so pleased you're getting some help with all your issues and that baby will be born into a loving family.

Hello, thankyou it certainly has been a rollercoaster week so hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here on in! We went shopping again this eveing and got a really nice foldup playmat that zips into a bag for travel, its called sunshine safari and was a bargain £9.99 from kiddicare I'd definetly recommend it!

Robots glad to hear you saw a nice dr in the end! Your comment about your oh made me laugh so much, men really have no idea how much things cost, have you told him about nursery fees yet pmsl!

Firefrenzy what colour is the furniture set? If uts a unisex suitable one go for it, or otherwise is there a way you could purchase it and get a refund later eg keep it allwrapped still and return it if you change your mind after the scan?

And vickyvics thankyou, he is very lovely I definetly don't deserve him! Still now that the rings are on he's stuck with me til he dies lmao! Xxx
  • went to kiddicare today for the first time...ahh I loved it! I was in my element haha. really like the babystyle oyster pram now. am
thinking of getting the carrycot that fits onto it second hand off eBay though as it's £130 and they're going on ebay for about £35! and they aren't used for long.

will have to go back when iv got more money!
