Unfortunately yes Alias, and we had a terrible one, so it's well worth getting some reviews. Also need to put their big fees in your budget. Good luck for the search - you too Becsxxx
Exciting times!
I can't wait until after 20 weeks to buy some bits. I am still too timid to go for it. We were at the in laws this weekend and MIL has knitted 10 cardigans so far! They were so sweet, and made me so excited. I did buy some maternity jeans though from H and M, I don't have a big bump yet but can't close my jeans anymore and a bit skint to buy the next size up, so I thought I'd go for it.
Hugs x
We've budgeted about £5k for fees in total, do you think that will be enough?? Sorry going off the baby talk a bit but want to absorb as much knowledge as possible!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T0 -

Depends on whether you need to pay lots of stamp duty out of that or not. If not, that should be loads.
I think our solicitors' fees would have been £1,100, but we got a freebie as my godfather is a conveyancing solicitor....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I agree, does that include stamp duty or not? Survey fees are prob £1000 (full building survey), add mortgage fees and solicitors fees of at least £700 plus the cost of searches (maybe £200)..0

I keep meaning to go to aqua natal classes but they're only on twice a week here and iv always been at work when they're on! plus one of them is £8 a session which I think is expensive! the other is council run. I'm a bit nervous too, could do with a pregnant friend to come with me ha0 -

Just on the note of solicitors. The place we got our mortgage from told us we had to use their solicitor as one the of terms and conditions of having a mortgage from them. Although we didn't mind as it was a reputable mortgage company and they were able to get through the process promptly. Well promptly for a house sale that is lol xx0 -
no aqua natal classes in Nottingham at a sensible time (ie not in the working day) it seems!
will have to keep going with the DVD and maybe just go for a normal swim. I also bought a yoga DVD, but it appears to be 90% practising breathing, and that just makes me SOOOOO bored!!!.0 -
I've been swimming a few times and it's been lovely. I also walk the dog daily. But to be honest it's only in the last week or so that changing the bed didn't feel like hiking a mountain!
Sadly my regular exercise of roller skating/roller derby, river swimming & coppicing/wood chopping aren't really suitable in pregnancy!!
I just had a good chat with my midwife. I thought I should talk to her before the test on Wednesday. She'd been expecting me to call, and has offered to make time to visit me when/if I need her afterwards.
I also had a session with my therapist this morning. Haven't seen her in a month... Needless to say my anxiety is officially through the roof! (Double the score of a month ago). Thank goodness I started this before all this kerfuffle! I'm not sure who else was waiting to start CBT but I definitely recommend it.Please forgive the badly spelt alias...
