Thank goodness I don't have any smokers in my immediate friends / family circle. I gave up 8 years ago and can't stand the smell!

I was given a very narrow pot when I saw the mw on Tuesday, it was very difficult for me to aim into the pot!

Had a temporary crown put in today then came home and fell asleep, just woke up.

Hubby's gone to visit his family abroad for a couple of weeks and go to a wedding. I've been told not to fly as my placena is very low and there's risk of bleeding so I'll clean the house and have a lovely tidy house for a couple of weeks for a change lol.

Belly is bigger and heavier and I've been grumpier travelling on tube to and from work, the hustle and bustle is getting to me!

    22 weeks today :)

Well, I have first hand experience of this one. Visiting my mum 150 miles away, the smoke always bothered me and mum knew that. Before we had the LO, we always stayed overnight with mum. When my LO arrives, I told her that we just wouldn't be able to stay overnight there as I didn't want the little one amongst all the smoke and that it really isn't good for little lungs. Better to tell them sooner than later so they get used to the idea. We obviously still visit staying in a cheap local hotel and mum and father in law smoke outside when we visit their house They're both trying (not very hard at times, lol) to quit.

I'm sad that we don't stay there and not just for the cost but it means we get less time them, as if we could stay, we'd have all the evening when LO goes to sleep. It's hard but I just can't put my LO amongst all that smoke. If they can stop, it would be great. You can tell that they're trying to stop too, as the house is SO much better smelling etc......

And before LO, absolutely everything stank like an ashtray after our visit when we got home. We used to try and leave some things in the car, as even just being in the upstairs of the home, where they don't even smoke, everything wreaked of smoke! So gross (sorry to any smokers :) )

That's why we don't ever stay at my BILs house. I would come home & stuff that was in a suitcase & not even taken out would stink. Once I came back, 3 hour journey & my flat mate asked if we'd just been to the pub!

Then when he had a baby & at that point was still smoking in his house, they came to visit us & my nephews head and clothing stunk which broke my heart. Thankfully they now smoke outside but everything still smells.

Just eaten some scrambled egg on toast. Starting to get bad indigestion really easily now. Think all my intestines are really squashed up!

Just desperate to start feeling movement now!

Same here con, my scan is on 28th and it's dragging. Everyone is asking me if I've felt any movement yet and because I haven't I just worry (even though I've heard the heartbeat and my midwife said I probably wouldn't feel anything until around 20 weeks but still...) I still get stretching type twinges and it hurts when I sneeze and I'm not holding my belly! My cat keeps wanting to stand on my tummy a lot but it usually manage to move her to a different position and she just snuggles in!!

I've been feeling fluttery movements for about 2 weeks now (I'm 17 weeks). But they do say you feel movements earlier in your 2nd pregnancy because you know what you're looking out for.

I remember it took a while in my first (although I'm afraid I don't recall which weeks I finally felt them)... and then by the end of pregnancy I was wishing I couldn't feel them quite so strongly :P

This is my second and I felt wee bits of movement from around 11 weeks. However I only recognised them as that because I had felt them before. Real nudges and kicks have only really been since about week 20 onwards.

It depends where your placenta is, mine's posterior so I felt flutters from 15 weeksish and definite kicks from 17 but my sister's was anterior (at the front of your womb) and she didn't feel anything til past twenty weeks.

It's totally worth the wait though. And I don't just mean the weeks since I got pregnant x x

Thanks for the smoking solidarity ladies. I think I feel a bit guilty cos none of my family smoke so feel like I'm being discriminatory towards his family. Mainly his granddad, who I absolutely adore and has always been amazing and done so much for DH

I only started to feel proper movements last week (21w), getting lovely kicks on a regular basis now!

I've been wondering when the movement starts too. I don't think I've felt anything yet.

TL none of mine do too but DH hates smoking too it's just him who has to do the dirty work of telling them :)

Can anyone answer a question on maternity entitlements? My mat leave is due to run from March - Dec 2014, I'm likely to go back in the New Year 2015 (eeek!) Our holiday year runs from Jan - Dec and I'm unlikely to use any at the beginning of the year so I'll have accrued ALL my holiday by the time I get back. However because it would then be the next holiday year they probably won't let me take them. Would I get paid for them or would I lose them!? My brain is hurting just thinking about it!! I've got a maternity meeting tomorrow but I wanted to get things clear in my head first!!
