Yayyy for all the happy scan news! I can't wait for ours in 3 weeks. We intend to find out since it's likely that this will be our only child. It'd be nice to have all the right things from the beginning.
I got my 16w appt sorted btw. I wasn't worried about it being later, I was just worried they wouldn't call me back. Ever!!!
Anyway, my midwife called me Monday lunchtime and booked me in for the end of this week so yayy!
Much happier now, and I can discuss the pain in my pubic area with her. Hoping to goodness it's not PGP already! My sister was on crutches for 3 month with all 3 of hers with it.
SK xAfter 4 years of heartache, 3 rounds of IVF and 1 loss :A - we are finally expecting our miracle Ki11en - May 2014 :j
And a VERY surprise miracle in March 2017!0 -

I'm sure I will n just a few weeks as the midwife and sonographer have said but still....I want to feel it now and want bf to be able to feel it
I'm the same - getting much more fluttery goldfish in belly feelings over the past few days but nothing really concrete yet. Was pleased when she confirmed anterior today to be honest or I'd have been more worried!!
I'm sure we'll be complaining when we're getting beaten up inside later onTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Congrats eiteews!! A boy!! Fantastic!
I am in bed as I typehave been getting the worst pain ever in my right hip bone (I think) for a couple of days now
it hurts so bad! It's like a constant ache.
Does anyone know what this could be? I really don't want to have to go to the doctors again but I don't think I can hold off to ask my midwife as my appointment isn't until the 11th decI am in so much pain right now.
Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Congrats on great scans
The big news here is that I can stop using the Crinone Gel, it will feel very strange as I have used it daily since the beginning of September, but I only had to use it until I was 12 weeks-it feels like a bit of a security blanket for me and I'm a wee bit anxious about coming off it.0 -
Congrats on a great scan Eiteews!!! Another team blue!!! Thats brill!!!
I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on cot bumpers and bedding. We went into Mothercare at the weekend and DH fell in love with all the matching bedding sets. However, I have been doing some reading and there is a lot of articles out in cyberspace that say they are dangerous. Yet I know a lot of couples that use them. This is creating a bit of a dilemma in my head because on one hand they now terrify me but on the other hand the cot will look so empty without blankets and bumpers.
What are you guys thinking of doing?0 -

It could be PGP or sciatica, so it's best to get it checked out. If it's PGP then get referred to a physiotherapist and if they don't help much consider paying a private one or an osteopath who are experienced in PGP. The NHS aren't always great with this condition and often just hand out crutches and a sheet for exercises to do at home. I'm afraid I don't know much about sciatica but here's a link:

Kynthia thanks so much, I am going to give it a few days and if it continues I will go to the doctors I think. I think it might be PGP but I will try not to worry until I know for sure!
I will certainly use the 'things you can try at home' list on the link you pasted though, as some of those sound really useful!
Off to go make OH make me a hot water bottle now!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

I read you shouldn't use them before 12 months because of SIDS.
So you could buy it and just use it later.
I'm planning on using a Moses basket at the start as a cot wouldn't fit in our room anyway, but then I was just thinking the other day, Moses baskets have materials on the sides? So now I'm a bit worried about that!0 -

As far as I am aware the issues with cot bumpers are the risk of baby getting tangled in the ties or getting caught between the bumper and the cot side, which could also cause overheating so although moses baskets have fabric on the inside it's not the same as using bumpers. I hope that makes sense!0 -

We're the other way round - we didn't find out about number one, but will find out about number 2 - we both think it'll be easier for Isaac to get used to the idea of a baby brother or baby sister, rather than a baby sibling....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
