Does that mean that the only thing to pay for BT is the line rental. If so that's fine by me. I assume the number stays the same.

    Yes and yes. :)

If that's the case pm me contact details and we can get this arranged.:j

Thanks again for the time and effort in helping out.:T
  • I have a couple of questions. I am at the end of an aol contract, £24.99 per month. I have been with them for years and i'm looking for a better deal.

    These are my questions:
    1. How do I know if my exchange is unbundled?
    2. If it isn't unbundled, what is the best deal I am likely to get with aol?

As I have said I have been with them for years, and don't really want to change ISP, because i've been happy with the service, it's just the price that's the problem!

    Thanks.

    1. Use this site to find out about any LLU presence on your exchange.
    2. You haven't said what you have but if you don't try, you won't get any reduction. You may have to tell them that you are going to leave before they will actually offer you a better deal, even if you don't intend to.

Thanks very much for that. AOL are not listed as unbundled, but talktalk are so maybe they would be a better option for me, i.e less expensive!

Carphonewarehouse own AOL uk, so you may still get the deal worth asking.

If it helps, I was given Platinum at £9.99 a few months ago but my local exchange has only recently gone LLU for CPW (and still isn't AOL unbundled).

Don't be afraid to call back if you aren't offered what you want - I had to call back twice to get this deal :D

Correct, but TalkTalk and AOL Broadband continue to operate as two separate companies (at least for the time being).

This is because your exchange is due to be unbundled by AOL in the near future, and so the price you are given is the same is if AOL's LLU was already present.

To reiterate, CPW (TalkTalk) have one LLU system, AOL have another. Both are totally independent of one another.
