  • Just called aol as my current deal has just expired.

Explained i wasnt happy with the cost for the speed i was getting.
They have offered me 8 meg for £9.99 per month but had to agree to a new contract

Happy to do that - they have agreed if im unhappy with the speed a few months in they will cancel this contract with no charges and im free to leave.

You will only get the 8mb £9.99 deal if your exchange is unbundled

My exchange is unbundled, but I keep getting put through to India and they can barely understand what I'm asking for. I have been with AOL at 2 previous addresses and from the dim and dark days of 56k dial up (around 10 years).
I've been on the Platinum package ever since it started (now paying £29.99 a month).
I never seem to get put through to Ireland and its getting to the point where I will seriously switch to Sky.
If Jammin feels able to help my username is stevenkronos.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Try +353 5133 5100 for Ireland.

smc999 - what price plan are you looking for? Upto 8mb unlimited + evening and weekend landline calls for £9.99 a month?

    Yes please.
We are planning to have kids soon so all savings count.
I was going to try the direct Ireland number, but I wasn't sure of the costs.
Does the offer tie me to a new contract with the bb and the calls?
    Thanks again for the help.

It's an 18 month contract for broadband, the calls you can cancel at any time if you decide you want to go back to BT. Note that ALL your calls will be routed through AOL Talk with this package.

Does that mean that the only thing to pay for BT is the line rental. If so that's fine by me. I assume the number stays the same.
