AOL 8Mbps Platinum for £9.99

Options
I was paying a whopping £29.99 for this. I just called AOL and said that I was a loyal customer and wanted a better deal. They offered me £17.99 plus free weekend and evening calls. I didn't take this up. When I called back they offered me £24.99!!! This was an hour later. I threatened to leave and they came up with the £9.99 deal. I'm pretty pleased with my 10 minute call!!:j

If you call 0800 2796771 option one, request a 'mac code' they will transfer you to the relevant department, explain your friend gets 8mb and free call package for £9.99 and you aren't happy at paying more. should be straight forward after that.

That sounds interesting, what call package did you get? I'm on AOL Silver at £9.99 per month (only 1MB  )

Why £9.99? Is that suppose to be a benchmark to a competitor's product?
    I know nothing

I think the £9.99 Platinum is supposed to be comparible to Sky's £10/mth (Although Sky's is up to 16mbps).

I'm at/near the end of my "10 day testing period" for DSL max from AOL (yes they agreed to give me the up to 8MB) but my speed test has only shown a marginal increase - I live 700m from our exchange and the BT tester says it should be around 6MB on my line.

When does the higher speed kick in, at the end of the testing period? :o

Should have done so by now! Have they actually done anything? What do your router stats tell you? What is your speed test result here.

Just been upped from AOL Silver's £17.99 for 2mb to Platinum's £9.99 for 8mb and free calls on evenings & weekends.

thanks for getting me to do something about my apathy guys!:T The reduced line rental would have been good enough, but the speed & calls were a bonus without the faff of moving companies.

Your router stats would show your actual line sync rate but from the look of your upload speed, you are not on max ADSL - up to 8Mb.
